Here they go again. "Center for Science in the Public Interest" Ie., commie front group (see Ayn Rand). They claim the caramel coloring increases the chance of cancer. Lawyers have been pushing the idea of cola causing cancer for quite while now.. People have been drinking cola for what, over 100 years?

I think this is the same group that argued that natural fats were bad for you, and must be replaced by artifically created trans-fats, which it now argues are bad for you, and mustg be replaced by natural fats. . .

Does Coke cause autism too?

It must because Lisa Jackson (EPA Head) claimed that even drinking water does.

The question is whether cola requires caramel colorings. Probably not, but what would be the color without them. Some off beige? green?

CSPI is as you say a commie front group. I first heard of them when they were warning of the health risks of beef chimichanga’s and thought to myself, who the hell eats that many chimichanga’s in a week/month/year? once a week, twice a month, 25 to 30 of them in a year worst case. Realized then that they were full of BS and were simply a buzzkill bunch. Raining on the parade of anyone who might enjoy their life.

Screw them, and they are probably Soros funded to boot.

The company that manufactures the caramel color is located in Louisville, Kentucky. They are the DD Williams company. They are quiet and low profile. I’m sure they are outraged with this report.

What about the phosphoric acid used in brown colored sodas? By any chance is this linked to any health factors like strokes and kidney failure? Quick go surfing for details.

Here we go.....look for a Mega-Billion Class Action Suit by a group of Lawyers, which is ALL these cases are about.

After reaping Mega-Billions from taxpayers via the "Tobacco Settlement", (which purportedly was to reimburse States for costs of smoker medical care, and NONE OF IT GOT BACK TO THEM FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS INTENDED), we now will attack "Big Beverage".

In the end, the consumer will get coupons, and the Lawyers will get Billions in cash.

If there was a way to check the contributors to The Center for "Science" in the "Public Interest", I would wager you'll find something around $10 mill in cold, hard cash from firms who manufacture soft drinks without "caramel coloring".

The CSPI is available for sale -- to the highest bidder -- to attack any and all American food companies. For profit.

The lowest of the low...

GOOD !!!!

It's about time that industry started swinging back at all these wild claims that every wacky liberal 'group' makes ...

Socialism .. your time has passed, you are doomed to the dustbin of history .. nobody believes your BS anymore because it has proven to be unworkable, and well, contradictory and retarded ... 'political correctness' is finished.

Quick Poll: Which do you prefer, Coke or Pepsi ?

IIRC, Rush said a few years back the CSPI was just a couple of regular guys with a fax machine, and no real science training.

Mark Levin, who is far more trustworthy than ABC News, said you would have to drink 1000 cans per day in order to get that level of exposure to the colorant.

I’m not sure why people care what color it is anyway.

Color is a very important factor in the palatability of foods and drinks. Food companies know this. You rarely see blue food.
