Steve Southerland on WFLA Preston Scott now... says he WILL “consider” raising debt ceiling.... please call in and tell him NO WAY !!!

Need to keep the pressure on him... For those who do not know. he is the freshman congressman (FL-2) who took out senior congressman Allen Boyd... he won because he promised to toe the line on the spending and FISCAL discipline... he has done some standing up to leadership.. but he MUST NOT give any wiggle room on raising the debt the ceiling ! PERIOD... please call him and tell him we ARE paying attention !
Either he doesn’t have a clue or he is bought and paid for by the BANKSTERS....
I enthusisticaly voted for him BECAUSE he seemed genuine... this comment was SHOCKING to me when I heard it.. we need to call him on it for sure !

There isn’t much choice. Tax revenues barely cover the cost of interest on the national debt and Health and Human Services. If they don’t raise the debt ceiling, they would have to shut down the government.
It took a long time to get into this mess and it’s going to take years to fix it. Even going back to 2008 spending levels would mean laying off 200,000 federal employees.

I can see Republicans being scared of being blamed for shutting down the government in time to contribute to Hussein’s re-election like it worked for Clinton, but it’s time to stop the knee-jerk debt raising. REALITY REQUIRES a raise in the debt ceiling. If we default, our recession so far will seem like a walk in the park.
What they should do is require that any raise in the debt ceiling is combined with XXX amount of spending cuts.
You don’t default on your mortgage to spite your neighbor, and that’s basically what some Freepers have been suggesting.
It’s kinda like trying to get a date with a hot girl.
Some Freepers’ suggestions are akin to walking right up to her and grabbing her a$$, when we need to wine and dine her first despite how desperate we may be!
Obama’s plans, OTOH, are more like ignoring her entirely and just paying for a prostitute.
the raising of the debt ceiling is not even remotely uncertain. it will happen no matter what anyone says, because congress with be threated with ‘riots and tanks in the streets’ if they dont do it. Enjoy your disappointment.
I disagree we need to toe the line and say no more debt.... period !!! The U.S. House of Representatives holds the purse strings of the United States and EVERY member of the House needs to collevely get on the Dave Ramsey plan !!
