Over at NRO, Jay Nordlinger makes an incredibly good point: Barack Obama should be urging calm in Wisconsin, no matter WHAT side of the underlying issue he is on. It is not just unpresidential of him, but despicable, for him in effect to be urging on the mass demonstrations.
But as J. Christian Adams, Justice Department whistle-blower extraordinaire, reminded me in an email accompanying this post of his, these are not only the tactics always favored by the left in general, but specifically the sorts of tactics Obama himself was trained in -- AND exactly what I myself warned about (as Christian reminded me) in my very first post-presidential election column in 2008.

I guess you and I have been watching different news. How can you say WI is a lost cause? Sure...they are getting pushback from the unions, but the unions aren’t in the majority, though they are doing their dead level best to create that perception.* They’ve done that for years, but this time is different...the American people are aware of their tactics.

This isn’t about one man, and no, these people are not just going to go away. The organizations that are using the teachers and other union members to foment these demonstrations are all about protecting the power that they have already and to take any additional leverage they can get to remain in control. They have been doing this very thing for nearly 100 years and doing it pretty damn well judging by results. Who do you think has more experience here, us or them?
This isn’t about teacher’s health insurance, it’s about power. The voters of WI made a pretty clear statement in November about the direction that they wanted their state to take. You don’t think that these thugs are going to allow a little thing like an election to stand in their way do you?
Obama is only important to their cause as a tool to be used for what benefit he can provide then he too will be consumed by the “mobs”.
That sounds good, count me in. I do need to know how to keep my money out of the hands of Government though, so as to prevent them from seizing it.
Government provides one, and only one function in any form of society, force.
First and foremost, Government’s only function, provide force where required in order for compliance to be achieved.
You and I may talk about what we will do and what we will not do when required by our Government. We have no power to thwart the force that will directed against us should we run afoul of it’s wishes. That is unless we are talking about armed insurrection. Is anyone really ready for that?

Wisconsin is the third sovereign state on which his Zero-ness and the Federal government have openly declared war—Arizona and Louisiana being the first and second, respectively.
Any protest across the country regarding budget cuts should be scrutinized as community organizing initiated by Obama, OFA, and his progressive machine.

The unions may have many locals but no way near the non-union folks. They are a small band of economy killers. Right thinking Americans have a 10 to 1 advantage. Right now they have the loudest mouth. However there time is coming like a train wreck.

I’m with you, I was so proud of that lone tea partier in Illinios who confronted the WI senators. And the people down at the WI capitol showing their support for the Governor. With people like that, we won’t have a Cairo.

I agree, and if they try this in my state, I would like to see a bunch of concerned citizens (me included) go down to my state capital and ring it with bodily protection. The people trying to do the right thing deserve it.
Madison is the state capital, and as such, draws an unrepresentative crowd of libs over the issue of killing off the thug unions.

IE: do you hear of any "gatherings of cowards" in La Crosse, GreenBay, Appleton, Eau Claire, Superior???? Of course not.
Believe me when I tell all of you....the great majority of voters in WI are behind Walker 100% and believe the dem/lib/prog/pop elected officials who ran away are displaying the cowardice we've long known they possessed as one of their basic personality traits.
