WASHINGTON — The House has approved a Republican proposal to block federal aid for Planned Parenthood. The 240-185 vote on Friday is a victory for anti-abortion forces led by Indiana GOP Rep. Mike Pence. He says taxpayer money should not go to groups that provide or promote abortion. Democrats say Planned Parenthood provides contraception and other valuable family planning services, and that cutting off the money will make it hard for women to get such basic help.

How hard can it be to walk into a drugstore and buy a rubber?

Pro-life entities get by on private donations, why can’t pro-abortion advocates?

The House has approved a Republican proposal to block federal aid for Planned Parenthood.

Finally! Washington has heard the voice of the U.S. majority! The American people are going to absolutely love the Republican party for what it's doing. This is the first time they've ever tried to stand up, and the country is cheering them on because of it.
If they keep working for and supporting the tax payers like they are now, the democrat party is toast.

Dems say it is a Bill Of Attainder and will be overthroen by the courts.

Maybe, no such case has made it to the Supreme Court but in an Acorn case the 2nd appelate court ruled that banning funds to it was not a punishment because the funds were less than 10% of it’s funding.

Not sure how well reasoned the opinion was or how large a part of PP overall funding this bill ( I think 300 plus million) rescinds .

SWEET! I love it when the libturds get their panties twisted up.

I hope they defund NPR/CPB, the NEAs (both of them), the EPA and support for the UN next.

Why do we need the UN? I say send ‘em to Juarez to set up shop. New York is too good for all those weasels.

Sounds good.

Let us hope that they also vote NO MONEY for abortions for any reasons, no exceptions.

It should be the same for all Non-Government Organizations, cut them all off. This is how the left continues to thrive in this country, YOUR money.

I’m betting they’re shouting about “women’s health issues”, etc, and all the “good” that PP does for women’s health.

I’d say - no problem, keep the “women’s health” programs going, stop doing abortions, and we’ll talk about re-funding them.

Keeping women’s health programs is one thing. But Planned Parenthood is a typical gov. run organization infested with unreliable liberals who want abortion and alternate lifestyles and continue the liberal agenda of the day. Anything worthwhile can’t be government run. Sorry, facts are facts. Give the private sector the same opportunity and everything will run fine. The government is why Planned Parenthood has to go. If you have noticed, the government ruins just about everything it puts its fingers into.

See, my point was to knock the legs of their stool out from under them.

You KNOW that their only concern is abortion,
yet they’ll state all these other reasons to fund PP.

Make rhetorical concessions on those and kick the chair out from under their argument.

While they are at it, they need to defund any and all private non-profits.

Let them ALL stand or fall on their own merits.

The libs love PP so much, let them dip into their own pockets to support it!

He says taxpayer money should not go to groups that provide or promote abortion.

Taxpayer money also should not be used to fund groups that facilitate criminal activity, such as Planned Parenthood.

Ths libs on facebook said it’s either pay for the abortion, or support the kid on welfare. The implied racism in that statement aside, I told them the taxpayers should not be forced to pay for either.

One lib accused me of boiling it down to dollars and cents, another of oversimplifying when I said that it’s easy to care with other people’s money. I think they might defriend me. good.

You haven’t argued with many libs, I can tell.

They NEVER argue based on their real beliefs, because they know that what they support is abhorrent to most decent people.

So, they always bring up “shield” issues or sub-issues.
In order to reduce them to defending the main issue that they know is indefensible (killing near or full term babies for convenience), you _rhetorically_ make consessions on any “hard” cases that they bring up (rape, incest, etc),

and leave them spluttering trying to defend poking scissors in the spines of full term babies.

I agree, MrB. But, I don’t believe in abortion for any terms including incest or rape. I Believe, my God, creates life and only He can destroy it. There are famous people in history who were bastards and products of incest. I know it is tragic, but life is sometimes very tragic. But, one person’s bastard is another person’s little angel.

Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar business that rakes in 1/3 of its budget from state and federal govt grants. Congressional Dems interrogated banking, energy, health insurance, tobacco, and oil execs — treating them like serial killers. When will Dems finally vote to defund a corrupt industry that has real blood on its hands?

PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S RAMPANT GOVERNMENT FRAUD

<><><> The US Inspector General found that NJ Planned Parenthood falsified Medicaid claims to get their hands on $2.9 million they were not entitled to.

<><><> Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest will pay the state $345,000 after settling a 2009 audit that uncovered the clinic used incorrect codes and provided insufficient documentation for some claims billed to Medicaid.

<><><> The original audit finding estimated the Spokane family-planning organization improperly billed Medicaid more than $629,000 for 333 patient procedures from March 2004 through February 2007. During that time, the clinic collected about $7.6 million from Medicaid.

<><><> Planned Parenthood California is under criminal investigation for billing taxpayers high prices for birth control equipment that they obtained on the cheap.

<><><> The Picower Foundation, one of PP's biggest financiers, was in cahoots with Ponzi thief Bernie Madoff, and was forced to give back $9B that was apparently part of a money-laundering tax evasion deal that got Picower an unlikely 900% return on investment.

PP is also suspected of aiding and abetting underage sex abuse, and suspected of participating in cover-ups----performing abortions on underage teens who were impregnated by older males, and failing to notify authorities. PP clinicians apparently covered up sexual abuse of underage teens by falsifying federal documents in order to receive federal funds for performing underage abortions. That would be classified as govt fraud -- using tax funding to aid and abet illegal acts.

You're right... and if all minorities knew the what the main goal of PP was in its inception...they would have put them out of business a long time ago.
