Paper says 2 inches along the coast and 2 feet of snow could occur as low as 2,000 feet...

Checked it twice...that is what a meteorologist said according to the report in the Long Beach paper.

Arrives this afternoon....just in time for the Friday afternoon commute...

Who is so diabolical to schedule that arrival time.?

Hey Ernest, I've never actually even seen a flash flood, even when out in the desert camping during *heavy* rains..

But if I see one, I'll report in immediately....lol

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM PST SATURDAY...

...A STRONG PACIFIC STORM WILL ARRIVE THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...

A STRONG PACIFIC STORM WILL ARRIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS AFTERNOON. IT WILL BRING RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW THAT WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH TONIGHT. SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT AND TAPER OFF EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. LOCAL STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS WEATHER SYSTEM.

THERE WILL BE ENOUGH INSTABILITY AND DYNAMIC FORCING FOR ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. WATERSPOUTS AND FUNNEL CLOUDS MAY ALSO DEVELOP.

ESTIMATED STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE 1 TO 2 INCHES FOR THE COAST AND VALLEYS...2 TO 3 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS...AND 0.25 TO 1 INCH IN THE DESERTS. THERE COULD BE ISOLATED LARGER AMOUNTS...ESPECIALLY ON THE SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES OF THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS. WITH THE HIGHER RAINFALL RATES THIS EVENING...LOCALIZED FLOODING IS PROBABLE IN THE AREAS WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS BELOW THE SNOW LEVEL.

THE SNOW LEVEL WILL START AT ABOUT 5500 FEET...LOWER TO ABOUT 4000 FEET SATURDAY MORNING...AND DOWN TO 3300 FEET BY SUNDAY MORNING. TOP SNOWFALLS WILL EXCEED TWO FEET AT THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS...AND BETWEEN HALF A FOOT TO 18 INCHES IS LIKELY AT THE RESORT LEVELS. THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS COULD EVENTUALLY GET ABOUT 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. THE HIGH DESERTS AND SANTA ANA MOUNTAIN PEAKS COULD ALSO GET LIGHT SNOW.

I have. Pretty scar and very dramatic. A friend saw one come through the wash by her house. Big wall of water, lots of noise, boulders, etc. Not a cloud in the sky.

You need to see the pictures of the one that happened with the last storm....Yikes.

Filled the first floor of some homes to the ceiling with mud!

Happened in San Bernandino County in city of Highland...near Redlands.

I've been going to the desert for many decades...There are flash flood washes everywhere below high ground...If one is stupid enough to go into a wash before or during heavy rains...??? lol....

Those that know, or have a brain, know it can happen miles away up in the mountains...Water goes down hill...No surprise..

My point is, most flash floods occur where no one is most of the time...Those dumb enough to be in OR live in low ground flash flood areas.....Well...what can ya say? They're going to get wet...

Fertilize early with rapid growth followed by a freeze is asking for heartache Ernest. We are basking in glorious sunshine a little to the north of you. Do you listen to the Garden Life radio show out of Sam Diego on Saturdays and Sundays? Tune your Radio here...

Not sure where this one happened.

I know exactly where it happened Ernest..See the uphill canyon in your pic?

This happened at the bottom or near the low end of a canyon...This never happens on high ground...lol...

People attempting to cross high fast moving water during flash floods or periods of heavy rain, get wet.

See #10

I talked to my Little(?) sister near Fresno this morning and she said the winds were bad but the heavy rain had bypassed them at that point in tike. She said the snow was down to 5,000’ and the weather channel showed the blinding snow on Donner with all the parked trucks...

We had many days of really lovely weather here in the high desert. I am not looking forward to this. The tulips are breaking ground. For years they have not bloomed.
