The US government is offering private intelligence companies contracts to create software to manage "fake people" on social media sites and create the illusion of consensus on controversial issues.
The contract calls for the development of "Persona Management Software" which would help the user create and manage a variety of distinct fake profiles online. The job listing was discussed in recently leaked emails from the private security firm HBGary after an attack by internet activist last week.

According to the contract, the software would "protect the identity of government agencies" by employing a number of false signals to convince users that the poster is in fact a real person. A single user could manage unique background information and status updates for up to 10 fake people from a single computer.
The software enables the government to shield its identity through a number of different methods including the ability to assign unique IP addresses to each persona and the ability to make it appear as though the user is posting from other locations around the world.

So the government can be jailed for creating spam?
I Love big brobama!
They might even post to tell us how efficient high speed rail is and how productive it will make us. LOL
Imagine, if you will, this story coming out during any Republican administration. It would be the lead story in the New York Times for eighteen months. Investigations and calls for impeachment would follow.
But with a State Run Media, like we have now, there is utterly no coverage besides this tiny mention.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see another “grassroots” call for vote-by-Internet soon.
I am not a bot, but just to be fair, bots are simply employed by the govt. To do the jobs illegal aliens won’t or are unable to do.
HEY! I FOUND ONE!
: )
No, Willie Green is gone.
It is incredible that we have real live people (though apparently not in sufficient numbers) that voice all of those positions...
Right!
Finally, an explanation for Ash.
Thanks. I always look up words I’m unfamiliar with. “dystopic” is not in my online dictionaries, but “Dystopia” is. Should have just tried other forms. Ah, well,,, learn something every day! Last one was “Pareidolia.”

And the author of the piece has it wrong...it's NOT a contract but a "sources sought" notice looking for potential vendors.
And, it is for CENTCOM, based at MacDill AFB, with work performance to be located in Baghdad and Kabul.
But NO RFP/RFQ has been issued and NO contract has been awarded (yet).
This is one of e scariest articles I have seen in a while. It’s like they want to escalate what the DNC, unions and secular humanist devotees have been doing for years. The seem to be looking for a “final solution” to staying in power, so they can just settle down to the business of autocracy.
Great - a new “tool” to creat false consensus. Should work well for the global warmists when they invent thousands of new “scientists” that support their position.
“But the science is settled” has been their mantra. It will appear even more settled when a few thousand non-existent scientists support their view.
Ahhhh, the good old days!
I did a search before I posted, nothing came up.
