Rumsfeld blasts Obama's world image

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld disputes the notion that President Barack Obama has made America more popular around the globe than it was under his former boss, President George W. Bush.

Asked on CNN's "State of the Union" by host Candy Crowley whether the U.S. is looked at differently than under his tenure, Rumsfeld replied, “I don't think there's data that supports that.”

"He has made a practice of trying to apologize for America," Rumsfeld said of Obama. "I personally am proud of America”

Rumsfeld also downplayed Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize.

“He had not accomplished a thing when he got the Nobel Prize. It was given to him on hope,” Rumsfeld said. “Had to have been cause, there wasn't anything that he'd done. He'd been in office 15 minutes.”

Go away Donald. Take Newt and Tokyo Rove with you.
The day of the beltway elitist is past and there is no place for you on the stage.

Sorry to be blunt, my American FRiends, but Obama has turned America from a country not to be f***ed with into a proverbial fire hydrant that every mad dog in the world has lined up to piss on. Kennedy, Reagan, and both Bushes did not let that happen.

Rumsfeld’s new book is good. He repeatedly states that deliberate weakness is a deliberate provocation and points the arrow directly at 0bama. Rumsfeld has had a more interesting life story that George W. Bush - by a mile. Rumsfeld is honest about his persuasions and it is a good read.

Maybe, but I don’t disagree with his comments in this interview.

You don't realize what a real man is until you have Obama and Biden leading the country. I would give anything to have Rummy and Cheney back.

Telling it like it is! Love ya, Rummy!

Absolutely agree. Rummy and Cheney were two resolute, clear-thinking, and plain-speaking adults who love the USA. They both have steel spines and speak their minds forcefully.

The last three democrat administrations, including the current one, have all been run by spoiled unaccomplished children who favor our enemies, support marxism and hate the USA.

I’m not interested in words, but deeds.

Rumsfeld mishandled both the Iraq and Afganistan wars. One reason islamic extremism is on the rise is that there is now a perception that the USA can be checked, if not outright defeated.

And I lay much of the blame for that on Rumsfeld’s casual arrogance.

Yes, the world see the USA under BO as weak. They know that he will not stand up for America and everything has gone to hell. He is not respected.

D.R.’s memoir is funny, interesting and explains a lot about behind the scenes stuff where he was involved. He survived many administrations and did a lot towards keeping the U.S. unsocialized in spite of massive international and domestic pressure. Just reading the book makes one aware of how lucky we are to have patriots like him. Where else in the world can a middle class kid put himself though Princeton on a military scholarship, run and serve in congress and serve his country at the highest levels and make a difference that lasts through his own lifetime?

Where are you coming from on this one? Comparing Rumsfeld with Gingrich is a mystery to me.

I’m sure the Republicans are too pleasant to do it, but a campaign commercial with all the pics of Baraq bowing to different world “leaders” would tell the story quite well.

C’mon, dont be so harsh. BO is both respected and revered amongst the muslim voice as they know he will aid their endeavors and make their job easier. WE know globally they are the voice against America at every step.

The bugger is one of them and should not be in our White House!

Now that's gonna leave a mark.
