Columbia University students heckled a war hero during a town-hall meeting on whether ROTC should be allowed back on campus.
"Racist!" some students yelled at Anthony Maschek, a Columbia freshman and former Army staff sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being shot 11 times in a firefight in northern Iraq in February 2008. Others hissed and booed the veteran.

An outrage but sadly, not that surprising when it occurs at a pricey university that teaches students to despise their country and celebrate sexual perversity. Take the typical entitlement mentality and inherent narcissism most college-age students possess and you have a bunch of ignorant, self-absorbed fools booing a military hero and calling him ‘racist’ because he made a brave attempt to defend the military to these worthless idiots, most of whom think a hangnail is a wound and so, cannot relate to moral and physical courage of a hero such as Anthony Maschek. Their loss - but still galling to learn about and chilling for it’s implications for our nations future.

Listened last night online to Mancow to what had happened, it truly was disgusting.
Are we really surprised to hear of such treachery at Columbia? Columbia was the very heart of sedition against the U.S. during Vietnam. It was at that time that ROTC was first targeted and banned from the campus. It was then that the “New Left” commies and Maoists flew the VC flag as a “protest” of U.S. “imperialism. Since that time, the Left has conducted its “long march” through the educational institutions of America. The college of Education at Columbia is one of the most “prestigious” in the country. Obama is a Columbia alum. Bill Ayers went to Columbia Teacher’s College back in 1984; having traded bombing police stations, tacking judges hostage, robbing banks, and killing cops as a Weather Underground terrorist, for a career as a “professor of education”. He recently retired as a tenured professor from the University of Illinois (Chicago). I confronted a professor last year in grad school over listing an Ayers book as required reading in the class. Recall also that Columbia President Bollinger was the jerk who invited Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iranian “President” and infamous Holocaust denier, as a guest speaker while he was in NYC to visit that other stellar institution, the UN. Isn’t that nice, vicious tyrants are welcome...while American heroes are persona non grata! The university claims that the current ban stems from the don’t ask don’t tell policy and that they can’t reinstate ROTC even though the Pentagon has changed their policy because...get this...the military still makes no allowance for TRANSGENDER personnel. Oy! Would Columbia have the US military populated by real life corporal Klingers standing guard in wigs and pumps? The saddest part of this story is that what you see at Columbia has spread throughout ALL of academia.
Columbia U has long been am absolute cesspool.
1- You might want to examine the ethnic demographics of Columbia, half are foreign and most of the rest are US minorities. Few average Americans (the ones that enlist) are not ever given admission.
2- Most graduates from Columbia will never serve except on Wall St.
3- Their perceived job is making money not defending the USA.
4- A disproportionate number of bankers who robbed taxpayers blind probably came from Ivy League and Columbia and Harvard.
5- An equally disproportionate number from Columbia have never ever served in any capacity in our military. Their self proclaimed mission is about stealing our taxes using Geithner and the Fed.
I'm told that some of the earliest Viet Nam war era riot/protests occurred at Columbia.
