One would think they’d hold this a bit more into East Austin.
Soon we’ll be reading that Jose took out his sister after she traded his street heat for groceries to feed the kids.
They did! Last year with this buyback, private buyers were picking up the good stuff before the sellers got into the gated swap area. Here in Austin.
That’s why it’s at a Church this time.
Why do they call them “buy backs?” And why does the pro-rights community fall into the trap of accepting their language?
Buy Back says that the guns belonged to the government in the first place and they’re just buying them back.
It isn’t a buy back. It’s a bribe to disarm and for criminals, it’s a way to dsipose of evidence.
Just stand outside the doors of the location where the guns are to be traded in offering $225+ CASH for the same gun that the city only to give coupons for. Not sure how long you'd last before the cops threw you in jail on some trumped up charge.
I would trade my son’s airsoft for a couple racks of baby backs!
LOL!
With or w/o ammo?
Your idea is mo' better!
I keep hoping for one of those where I live (it’s highly unlikely- I live right in the middle of Texas).
Among many other (quality) guns, I inherited from my father a rusty old savage shotgun/rifle in .22/20 gauge. I would love to sell this gun to one of these idiotic programs, and apply the money to a better gun- say another Mosin-Nagant (I have two already), or whatever mil-surp rifle is on sale this week at Big Five.
My father would thoroughly approve of this plan, I’m sure! In fact, he’d get a big laugh out of it if I did so!
These are cops, working in jails, where evidence has legs and walks out of locked rooms, do you really think some cop doesn’t four finger discount the good ones.
Hilarious!! I’d go for that in a heartbeat!
By Jove, I think you may be onto something.
Let’s bring it up at the next Austin city council meeting!
Most of them are probably junk, but I bet a few of them are stolen or may have been used to commit a crime. I wonder if they do ballistics tests on any of them?
West Palm Beach police return rare rifle (Buy back Program Ooops)
Well, the old 97 is shot out and certainly not safe to shoot anymore. I retired it about 25 years ago after a dove hunt.
It was a fantastic shotgun in it’s time. A John Moses Browning design, and if you can find a good one, get it.
Good way for criminals to get rid of any guns that could be linked to crimes, since no questions are asked.
I have a couple not worth $25 each, holding them just for the day when such a $100 offer comes to my town!
The good modern ones - not sure I’d credit them with knowing the rare, old antiques.
Yeah - lucky the rifle got into the papers, or it would have vanished.
