On Friday, 92 Republicans, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, joined all of the Democrats to defeat an amendment offered up by Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn to ensure the GOP lived up to its “$100 billion in cuts” pledge.
This was a failure of leadership, particularly by Eric Cantor.
Blackburn’s amendment, by its own description, would have “reduce[d] spending by 5.5% in 8 non-securiy spending subsections of the bill and reduce[d] Legislative Branch appropriations by 11%.”
In other words, just as Republicans pledged to bring spending down to 2008 levels, Congresswoman Blackburn’s amendment would have ensured it happened across the board, save for security matters.

Cantor should never have been put in leadership. He’s extremely weak-kneed, as he’s proven over and over.
Blackburn is an oak tree next to a willow compared to Cantor.

Cantor is a corruptocrat plain and simple. He does not want to see that he has to take a pay cut. can someone set up a poll for US Politicians to take a pay cut. All Congress Critters should only make 19,000.00, a year. The president and vice president should only make 12,000.00, a year. presidential appointees make 5,0000.00 a year. all federal judges make $25,000.00. all other federal employees make 15,000.00. Military personnel are not affected. Look how fast we can lower the debts of America. Will everyone want to become a politician or a federal employee, no way no how.
THEY ASK US TO MAKE SACRIFICES, THEY NEED TO DO SO THEMSELVES. SHOW the America People How in DC.

Harry Truman's salary was $25,000.00 a year as President.
Having said that there is way to many ways for a plutocrat to steal from the public, to try and set their salary low.
Better yet pay them one million a year, but allow them nothing further, anything above that is taxed 100% we would be getting off cheap at that.
Was there any explanation as to why these GOP’ers didn’t vote for all the cuts? Didn’t Issa and West also vote this way? What was the reason?
