A PC-6 is a heck of an airplane...great short-field, and also pressurized and can cruise well up into the flight levels above 20,000 feet. They might be able to find something cheaper if they didn’t need the high-altitude capability, like a Cessna Caravan or a Quest Kodiak, but there’s no doubt a PC-6 would be a tremendous asset.
Turboprops are the wave of the future in missionary aviation. 100LL avgas is really hard to find in the Third World, but jet fuel/kerosene is actually much more plentiful.
