WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Post Co. says its fourth-quarter net income declined 3 percent, as revenue was flat.
The company said Wednesday that net income totaled $79 million, or $9.42 per share. That's down from $81.7 million, or $8.71 per share, in the same period a year earlier. The company had more shares outstanding in the quarter a year ago, increasing per-share results.

The only thing that’s preventing them from dying out faster is Kaplan... which is a eeeevil capitalistic business that has nothing to do with newspapers.

Look at the bright side.
Net Income would have been much lower had not:
- The WaPoo given away NewsWeak for $1.00 and taken a bath on all of its related depreciation, amortization ... and stopped its operating losses; and
- Kaplan been churning out all those grads with certificates of questionable value, financed by government guaranteed student loans for exorbitant tuition ... thanks to increasing numbers of people made desperate by the Rat-induced economic disaster.
MeeMaw's passport to prominence is sucking wind ... real bad.

The Washington Pest needs to collapse. Just why anyone reads that rag (even for free on the internet) amazes me. Starve the beast.
