Don't forget to Ping the Admin Moderator and Jim Robinson as well. They really like to see threads set up to divert traffic from Free Republic to other sites.

My interest is in keeping Free Republic to best source of information for the topics that interest conservatives.

If you want to use Free Republic to promote a blog that steals content from someone else, expect some flak.

I think it has been part of the Libya disinformation nonintelligence agency agenda for decades to keep infidels confused.

Yes, that's why nearly every thread is a link to another site.

In fact, I may be wrong but I believe that part of the legal defense that FR has used over the years to justify excerpting stuff from copyrighted sources is that FR sends traffic to those other, copyrighted, sites.

Either way, if you really cared about the exchange of information I doubt you'd be so upset about whether it came from a blog or, I dunno, the "highly reliable" New York Times or CBS.

In fact (again) I might be wrong but one of FR's finest moments was back in 2004 when the now-hated "blogs" were the first sites to figure out that CBS had forged the Bush National Guard memos.

Boy, too bad we didn't have your view of blogs back then. We might have gotten a President Kerry.

:-)

A link to the information source, not to some middleman trying to scam web hits from someone else’s reporting.

from copyrighted sources

Key word there, sources.

I am more interested in Jim Robinson opinion of blogs, thanks anyways.

I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

If a blogger can’t or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then I’d just as soon he doesn’t post here. It’s not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers. That’s his job. And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.

Furthermore, I’m not big on “rules.” You won’t see me posting rules for bloggers. The rules for bloggers on FR are the same as the rules for everyone else. If you are a good conservative activist and are willing to work with US on OUR goals and causes and not against US, then you’re welcome to post to FR. But unless we say otherwise your blog material should be posted to our bloggers forum and it would be best if you do not excerpt your own material and if you would actually join in on the discussion here on FR. We’re not really that interested in driving OUR traffic to YOUR blog. But if our readers see that you post useful information then they might start reading your site and that’s fine by me.

I'm familiar with phase separation in blended gasoline. I use a stabilizer from Schaeffer Oil in St. Louis. I also like their lube products.
Schaeffer is the oldest lubricant manufacturer in the US, founded more than 20 years before the first oil well was drilled in Pennsylvania.

Correct.
Schaeffer is an interesting, privately held by the same founding family company since 1839. Their first lubes were made from tallow and candle wax.
Their original trade mark featured a team of Clydesdales pulling a wagon with Schaeffer lubes in barrels. The trademark was sold to the Anheuser family (as in Anheuser Busch) around the turn of the century. The reminents of the stables for the Clydesdales are still evident at their headquarters on Barton Street in downtown St. Louis.
I was introduced to Schaeffer when we were looking for a way to make a true winter spec N2 in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the UP (without N1 cutter.) Arctic Diesel, a grand slam, was the result.

The author should at least decide how to spell his name.

On Wednesdays, that's how it's spelled. Tomorrow it begins with "Q."

Khadafy (or however the HELL his name is spelt) should have been wiped out like a dirty a-hole LONG AGO.

We should have a contest for who can spell his name the most interesting.

And for the Irish spelling: Cáidaúphí.
