I think Murphy gets a scoop here when he gets Walker to explain a ruse that could bring the Senate back in session. He's discussing the missing Senate Democrats.
WALKER: There's a bunch of recalls up against them. They'd really like to just get back up here and get it over with. So the paycheck thing, some of the other things threatening them, I think collectively there's enough going on, and as long as they don't think I'm going to cave, which again we have no interest in. An interesting idea that was brought up to me by my chief of staff, we won't do it until tomorrow, is putting out an appeal to the Democratic leader. I would be willing to sit down and talk to him, the assembly Democrat leader, plus the other two Republican leaderstalk, not negotiate and listen to what they have to say if they will in turnbut Ill only do it if all 14 of them will come back and sit down in the state assembly. They can recess it... the reason for that, we're verifying it this afternoon, legally, we believe, once theyve gone into session, they dont physically have to be there. If theyre actually in session for that day, and they take a recess, the 19 Senate Republicans could then go into action and theyd have quorum because it's turned out that way. So were double checking that. If you heard I was going to talk to them thats the only reason why. Wed only do it if they came back to the capitol with all 14 of them. My sense is, hell. I'll talk. If they want to yell at me for an hour, I'm used to that. I can deal with that. But I'm not negotiating.

Lurker - are you really Scott Walker? :-)
The Governor takes many calls everyday. Throughout this call the Governor maintained his appreciation for and commitment to civil discourse. He continued to say that the budget repair bill is about the budget. The phone call shows that the Governor says the same thing in private as he does in public and the lengths that others will go to disrupt the civil debate Wisconsin is having.
Let's negotiate!..............
Big deal. The governor has repeatedly said he’s not going to negotiate because he can’t.
I do not know all the details of the prank and do not really care.
The highlighted text was great by the Gov. “They can yell at me.” “whatever - but I am NOT negotiating” LOL! Love. Stay tough WI and Gov. Walker. You have a lot of fans.
my idea...
Cave...tell the unions they win, you will strip the provisions they don't like, let the democrats come home in triumph. And as soon as all the crowds go home and the democrats are back in the senate. Ram the original bill through with guards at the doors to keep the dems from leaving.
I’m falling in love . . .
They can yell at me. whatever - but I am NOT negotiating.
I LIKE THIS GUY! Walker for President!
well for sure they won’t do it now that the cat’s out of the bag
It’s time to invoke the photo rule. Walker is a nice looking man.
Photo mandatory.
The head of someone on his staff should role. They allowed him to take that call without ascertaining the actual identity of the caller. There are standard procedures and practices to ensure this doesn’t happen, and obviously they were not followed. Crappy staff work.
The crisis will end when the democrats realize how foolish they look by running away from their jobs.
He is sure, confident, honorable and steadfast doing what he promised to do. Yes, he is a nice looking young man with a bright future!!!!
Whomever let the phone call get through to him needs to be fired.
This backfired on the left. Walker said the same things on the phone to the fraud caller that he said in public. The left is trying to make something of this, but all it shows is Walker’s honesty, and the dishonesty of the fraudulent “reporter” who make the bogus call.
Exactly. Gov. Walker has been very consistent with his message.
Eventually the Gov is going to get what he wants. The only question is...do the dems want to drag this out and risk unneeded layoffs.
Great movie and wonderful/appropriate lines!
Now all you need to do is provide pictures of his "negotiation" headshot... "Anyone else want to negotiate?"
The way of the left is dishonesty and subterfuge.
