Menu on new flight out of Tel Aviv branded 'insensitive'
EasyJet has been branded 'insensitive' by Jewish customers who were served bacon sandwiches on a flight from Israel.
Airline staff for the budget airline were forced to apologise on the route to London when passengers of the Jewish faith were offered only ham melts and bacon baguettes.
The airline claims to take pride in its inclusion of kosher food on the journey which was was introduced only in November.

THESE are a lack of religion?
I frequently do this too. It's sort of funny to see the looks I sometimes get from my neighbor when I'm eating some humongous roast beef sandwich and he has a small turkey sandwich with 3mm of turkey in it and a leaf of lettuce. One time, right after takeoff, I requested a bottle of wine to go with my sandwich. The stewardess understood my urgent need and complied; and smoke was coming out of the ears of the guy across the isle from me.
Wait for the TSA to confiscate sandwiches!

[ Who was quoted that was furious? No one. The Jewish passengers were not furious. Ridiculous title that makes it like Jews are on a hair trigger over getting their kosher food. ]
The article from dhimmi UK, was trying to equate one group that doesn’t like pork to the other radical group that doesn’t like pork and flys off the handle on the slightest provacation....
Oh please. Get over it. I’m so sick of this “insensitivity” crap.
People are too thin-skinned and easily offended these days. Besides, airline food sucks.
Neither will eating insects. But I suspect you would find this revolting.

LOL
John the Baptist ate locusts....
That's fine for Christians, but Orthodox Jews see things differently.
Yeah, but “Jews slightly annoyed at airline screwup” is a boring headline nobody would click on.
I think this was probably an intentional insult to Jews and I doubt that Easy Jet would have done it on a flight to Mecca (since Muslims also do not eat pork).
If there had been another menu option, I’d say the pork sandwiches were just an oversight, but if the travelers were offered only things with pork, I’d suspect a little malice.
It’s not a long flight and I have survived much longer flights without a bite (I’m not Jewish, I just hate airline food and won’t pay the exorbitant price for their “snacks”). I prefer to spend my money on a couple of overpriced minis of my favorite libation and remember the times when the minis used to be free on international flights...
So the passengers weren’t starving to death and it wasn’t advertised as a Kosher flight...but if it was going direct to Tel Aviv, common sense and decency say that something other than pork should have been offered.
Next time send me the ham melts and bacon baguettes.
Smoked ham: great for Hannukah!
See also: this’ll piss off the ROP.
What a dilemma!.... free ham sandwich or a free bacon sandwich?
Still, pretty big screw up for an airline trying to establish a new route.
I agree, nothing in the story indicated people were "furious."
“Didnt Jesus say that its what comes out of a man that makes him unclean, not what goes in?”
You are correct, however, these are Jews, not Christians here. As such, Jesus was just all right (oh yeah).
The airline could have a laugh at its own expense on this, smack itself on the forehead, and apologize with a drink ticket or something of that sort.
The gaffe is actually funny, and my experience with Jews are that they have a fantastic sense of humor.
It’s not the mistake, it’s how you recover, and this is a mistake you can actually turn into a load of free, very inexpensive, publicity.
Nobody rolls with the punches like Jews do. Stiff necked? Absolutely, but they are still the best.
During the ice age, humans ate ANYTHING that didn't eat them first. That's why we're here. Like it or not.
Locusts are kosher. Read Leviticus 11.
Post more, you're amusing.
Tell me how eating pork will kill someone.
