INDIANAPOLIS -- A deputy in the Indiana Attorney General's Office faces an internal review over online comments he made concerning protesters at the Wisconsin Legislature.
Mother Jones, a political website, tweeted Saturday "Sources in Madison say riot police have been ordered to clear protesters from capitol at 2 am," to which Deputy Attorney General Jeff Cox responded using his personal account, "Use live ammunition."
Editor's Note: Jeff Cox is the son of 6News reporter Norman Cox.
In an article published Wednesday on Mother Jones, author Adam Weinstein said Cox continued to advocate the use of deadly force on protesters.
Cox tweeted "You're damn right I advocate deadly force" in response to a query from Weinstein.
A statement from the Indiana Attorney General's Office said Cox's comments were

They are entitled, and FReepers should be having a fit, too.
There's no excuse for what this guy said, regardless of your opinion of the protesters.
Damned good idea, but incredibly dumb to say.....
Wrong thing to say but it sure scared the crap out of the communists rats.
I totally agree. We aren't living in a third world dictatorship (yet). The fool who made that "Use live ammo" comment deserves to be strung up like a pinata.
I don't know this guy, don't know his background, don't know his political leanings...nor do I do I give a damn about all that.
There is no excuse for ANYONE in a position of authority and influence over responding persons to a protest, to encourage deadly force, absent any indications of said protestors putting human life in danger.
He should be terminated, immediately and black-balled within the legal/law enforcement community.
Totally stupid!
Grossly irresponsible!
well said.
They get their panties in a wad over anything, so their indignation is a little suspect.
Poster children for Dumb Asses.
“We begin bombing in five minutes.”
That one got the libs all up in a tizzy, too.
Difference here is this guy was coming off as serious. Epic fail if he just forgot the /SARC tags.

Yeah, they’re all for “Revolution!” until someone chambers a live round.
Good, no problem - I’m sure that the Democratic Congressman that said that the union people should go get bloody in the streets will be resigning soon as well, right?
The media was in hysterics when Ann Coulter, who is NOT an elected official, dared make a sarcastic comment re John Edwards. I bet this will not get one-tenth the attention in the media.
BTTT

Oh goody, when can we fire 0bama?
Afterall he has advocated the use of violence and intimidation to counter any opposition to his policies, and it’s not much of a stretch to see what he meant by the “They bring a knife, we bring a gun” comment he made.
Were it up to me, the POS would never have been elected (hired).
“Were it up to me, the POS would never have been elected (hired).”
I know I’m the same way.
It’s hard to overcome a media that refused to do it’s job, and a political party that not only refuses to have closed primaries, but pushes for weak candidates like juan mclame.
