Posted on 02/24/2011 2:51:55 PM PST by Leisler
After going down in a spiral of paranoid stupiditycalled out for saving body scan images, ridiculed for patting down an almost-naked woman or nailed for harrassing a kid at airport securitythe TSA has reached a new low. It's surreal.
Here's what a traveler recorded on February 13, after his train trip to Savannah:
The only bad thing on our trip was [the] TSA at the Savannah train station. There were about 14 agents pulling people inside the building and coralling everyone in a roped area after you got off the train. This made no sense! Poor family in front of us! 9-year old getting patted down and wanded. They groped our people too and were very unprofessional. I am all about security, but when have you ever been harassed and felt up getting off a plane? Shouldn't they be doing that getting on? And they wonder why so many people are mad at them.
Indeed, this doesn't make sense at all. Why search people after the train trip? What's the logic here? Did the TSA get an alert that dangerous 9-year-old terrorists were coming in a train to Savannah? Perhaps it was TSA Surprise Training Time? Or maybe it was TSA Let's Piss Off People Day again?
We will never know, but it doesn't matter at this point. Just, keep up the great work, TSA. You are winning American's heart one unnecessary pat down at a time!
And why are TSA agents at train stations anyway? Next will there be TSA roadblocks on our nations highways?
They will be outside your front door before long.
Patting you down and wanding you before you go out into publik.
Where’s that Democrat Congressman who promised no TSA gropes if we all took the train?
"TSA , touch my children & I will eat your hands off the end of your arms, and send you back to the stupid troll hole you crawled out of...... "
You think you’re kidding about the roadblocks.
Somebody at the original article’s site surmised that the train station itself had gotten a bomb threat. I’m personally wondering if perhaps an outgoing train was named in the threat. Like the bastards did in Spain and Russia. So a passenger check happens that normally does not happen for Amtrak at all.
It was mentioned that these train passengers were getting off the train, so why grope them? It is like groping airline passengers after they land at their destination.
I read one of the comments. I also believe this is social conditioning of the public too.
If the threat came in while the passengers destined to be groped were still on their incoming train, then TSA wouldn’t have known to specially scrutinize the passengers getting on that train. Again, groping isn’t normal for Amtrak passengers.
It would have shown more class if incoming passengers could be individually verified as intending to leave the station, then that group escorted out of it (so they couldn’t be the conduit of a bomb). I’d be pretty sure they were groping other passengers walking into the station, though, and I’d wonder why no squawks about that happening.
Look on the bright side.
No TAZER.......This time.
This reminds me of the video of the scared kid getting patted on the head by Saddam Hussein. The benevolent one.
I had to buy a new remote control. And look where the batteries ended up so the dog couldn’t eat them.
Than in combination with a bomb threat drill — maybe.
Moose bastards have been known to sneak bombs onto trains. Spain and Russia, and maybe Italy?
Than => That
Checking someone getting off?????
What a bunch of a-holes! Do we really need these creeps?
I think someone in the Obama administration owes the public a good explanation for this. Hey! Darrell Issa?!?!? Warm up your subpoena machine!
I see trouble in my future. I’m 64, and some of my relatives and friends are in their late Eighties, and early Nineties. I haven’t taken a plane in twenty years. But if I have to go to a funeral, I will have to. I am not one to take this sh!t passively. I’ll probably get arrested.
One organ of fedgov is trying to kill off our cars, the other organ is shoving us in mass transit, and a third is putting the finishing touch on us be full fledged sheeple.
Make sure you have a friend or relative videotape everything (quietly and unobtrusively, of course).
TSA at train stations now? How widespread is this?
And what if a train passenger refused the pat-down, what then? They have already completed the train travel, so what they going to do?
And there was not any metal detectors nor naked body scanners there, so everyone is forced to submit to a pat-down, including little boys and girls.
This is what a Democrat-led union-driven government looks like! Where is the ACLU?
Which is why I said it might be a drill.
Depending on the jackboots’ mood, refuseniks might be arrested, or might simply be inconveniently detained then ultimately escorted out of the train station.
You might start preplanning on how it would be done with Greyhound Bus.
TSA is already doing this at bus stations: http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/the-new-greyhound-metal-detectors-scanners-pat-downs-introduced-at-bus-terminals_12022010
And the TSA has already put up highway roadblocks to do their searches: http://www.ajc.com/news/feds-involved-in-major-643211.html
The ‘TSA search’ campaign would be extended to sports stadiums, labeled sports and general aviation industries in the press release, as well as businesses and communities in general...http://www.webnewsjax.com/?p=131
No offense, but I must correct you, sir.
YOU have the RIGHT to be secure in your person, house, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, that SHALL NOT be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The TSA has a regulation, not law, that says they have the "right" to take away YOUR RIGHT.
The only question is, will you let the TSA take away YOUR RIGHT. Given that after all of the scanning and groping, the TSA has not stopped one single terrorist and its neglect of our border, what does this tell you?
I laugh at those who condone this sexual assault in order to "feel safe" and convince the victim that the victim is indeed not a terrorist. This is nothing short of Big Sis conditioning the public to let the public know who's boss.
As for myself I am not a terrorist, I am not scared of terrorists (and therefore defeat them), and I will not allow anyone to take away MY RIGHT without a fight. I pity the fool that lays a hand on one of my kids, wife or myself.
We taught our children from the time they were knee-high that their privates are private. But it's somehow OK if someone wears a uniform from an agency that makes up its own regulation claiming that it can molest children and others at will? I think not.
Whatever happened to the men that used to live in America?
This reads as setting up bus station facilities at which, possibly, gropes might be carried out in the future if a bomb threat appears.
They’re going to have to staff them first to make the gropes an ongoing practice, however. This is something that the GOP House is unlikely to give in on.
How long until the goons set up ‘check-points’ between cities - and we’re all carrying ‘papers’. I am so sick of liberal elites and their goons.
And if you are critical of the TSA, this may be coming to your front door: http://www.examiner.com/libertarian-in-national/federal-agents-search-home-of-pilot-critical-of-tsa
I have yet to see a single Freeper fulminating about this to actually hit the news as having bucked the TSA and gotten arrested, or even report having personally done it and somehow evading arrest. The trumpets blow loudly but who’s marching?
For in country travel, small airlines are starting to provide a go-round. No pat-downs, no scanners, no long lines - your name is pre-checked against no-fly lists.
NO PAT DOWN TRAVELING - ahahaha - up yrs, TSA/’bama goons
You go to the airport, get on the plane, no luggage charge, have a free in-flight meal and beer, no parking charges and when you get back home...get off plane, straight to car and off you go.
American ingenuity - block our way? We'll find another.
Bethca this will catch on -
Now, if they only flew to Italy ;o( - I have to go for a family weeding. I've seriously been thinking about driving to Halifax and leaving from Nova Scotia. I believe I would, if the CAT were still running. but it’ s LOOONNNg drive up and around without the CAT.
Do you think you are safe from the TSA in your own car? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/travel-safety-security/1153902-tsa-goes-mobile-strip-searched-you-walk-down-street-drive-your-car.html
This was the disgruntled pilot, I believe, who published a fairly detailed list of airport vulnerabilities.
This video needs to be sent to all Federal Georgia officials—Senators and Congressmen—and Georgia’s Governor, and State representatives.
This genie has to be put back in the bottle. The TSA has no “right” to do this, and they need to be defunded right away, and Janet Incompetano called on the carpet.
Rush and others need to se this.
We are at a turning point in America.
There is no other expkanation.
We can deny it all we want.
But our government has now been directed against us and a housecleaning is due.
A government regulation to a governmental employee becomes an absolute right to them. Do not dare cross them or try to fight them, they will say.
These people are bullies and thugs.
I have already forwarded it onto Drudge.
They are talking about X-raying cars (or similar technologies). It would be interesting to see what the USSC does with this. Currently, even though a warrant is laughably easy to get, one is still needed to search a car whose driver refuses it.
My dad remarked that when they come back from an internation flight to Cincinatti, they are required to go through TSA leaving the terminal and there is no option to step out such as going from the terminal straight to their car !
He has some unkind words about that !
You are right, he did. And he was right to do so. And the TSA took revenge.
The “Junk” case hasn’t been through court yet. Do you know when that is scheduled to happen?
He was right to publish an extensive list of airport vulnerabilities?
Wouldn’t it have sufficed to say he knows of a lot of vulnerabilities and other pilots know about it too?
After all even Jim Rob, the captain of this blog, says “Loose Lips Sink Ships.” The Moose have been surprisingly stupid in their attempts to attack thus far, by all accounts. No need to wise them up.
Customs checks generally happen at one’s destination in an international flight. Has customs added groping to their check list?
No I do not. I would assume the TSA would decide not to go forward with it anymore, after the outcry, and the fact they got their message across to the sheeple, not to mess with them, period. Wait until they are unionozed.
