Excerpting as I'm not sure whether or not this requires it. First sentence says it all, though. I'm really glad I voted for this governor!

Any caving to the democRats will be thwarting the will of the voters that put the GOPers in the offices they currently occupy.

If they return to Madison then won’t they be counted as present for quorum purposes regardless of whether they are physically present in the Senate chamber?

For once I would like cooperation with the Democrats to mean “we were planning on eliminating 10 programs, but to be nice we’ll let you salvage one or two of them for now”. Turn the ratchet of government to go the other direction so government is shrinking when the Republicans are in charge and is prevented from getting bigger if the Democrats take over occasionally.

If they return to Madison the Wisconsin state police can compel them to appear. In handcuffs if necessary. All he has to do is chump them across the state line and this is all over.

Published February 25, 2011 | Associated Press

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The school board of the state’s financially troubled capital city has voted to send termination letters to all of its nearly 2,000 teachers after city officials said the move would give them “maximum flexibility” to make budget cuts.

Chaffee is SUCH a wuss! How COULD you elect him RI? I do not believe the man ever had a clue, hasn't got one now. He was born to privilege and believes these govt. positions are his due, per his dad "who also served."--"was served" is more accurate.

Thanks for posting that!

The reason Senate Democrats claimed they left the state was because citizens needed more time to debate the issue. This is ironic because 12 of the 14 missing Senate Democrats passed Governor Doyle’s budget repair bill, which raised taxes by a billion dollars, within 24 hours of introduction and without a public hearing in February 2009. Senate Republicans vehemently disagreed with the bill and the process Democrats used to ram it through; however they stayed in Wisconsin, debated the legislation and made the choice to participate in democracy by casting their vote in opposition.

I love how he keeps pointing out their hypocrisy and their failure to serve their constituen
