Personally, I would prefer we go after Meshell when she blows the taxpayer dollars on lavish vacations than for her health initiative. There's nothing that this program has that's weird or socialist... it's just plain common sense. Speaking personally as someone who reached my goal weight through Weight Watchers, losing 70 lbs by daily exercise and eating real food sensibly with the occasional treat (bacon and dessert), I think she is doing a pretty good First Lady cause. And I certainly don't think Rush did any favors for conservatism by going after her with his obvious weight problems.
My two cents. To me this is the ONLY one good thing any Obama is doing. Criticize the Obamas for the many many many MANY things they are doing to ruin America. This is not one of them.

Two prominent overfed & overweight Republicans (in-name-only), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and likely 2012 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee....

The First Yeti lectures Americans about being fat..to ‘sacrifice” yet she heads to Vail Colorado at taxpayers expense and chows down on heavy-calorie steaks.
Just like her husband, she’s full of it.

I can’t speak for Christie, because I have never seen his family. But the Huckster and his family know a lot about obesity. His wife, daughter and two sons fit into that category. The Huckster himself fit into that category, until he lost a lot of weight. So, I don’t blame the Huckster for speaking out. He and his “large” family can relate to what Michele is talking about.
To: VictoryGal
I agree with the rino’s.
If moochelle wants to make the effort to be obese we should support her.
Isn’t that what the headline means?

I question Huckabee’s nanny-state ways, but he lost over 100lbs after a lifetime of being overweight. And Rush is still overweight.

"Rather, the first lady wants Americans to recognize that we have a serious obesity crisiswhich we do, Mr. Huckabee said."Screw you Mikey. Your whole family is FAT. Eat less, idiot.
We don't need more government regulation in our lives, you fat moron! We're suffocating already.

This is, kind of, OT, but how is Rush doing with his weight? Is he showing great improvements, physically?

Both are correct about the problem...its her “do as I say, not as I do” hypocrisy that I can’t tolerate. Worse if federal $$ are used to dictate behavior. Govt dictating behavior is a precent that should be vehemently stopped, denounced and shoved up govt’s orifice. If they get away with this, they’ll go further
Christies family is regular sized, more or less, btw.

The President's wife does not hold an elected position. She is an ordinary citizen. Hijacking national resources for personal self-aggrandizing campaigns is gauche, at least.

Actually it's not OT :-)
From his EIB videos (
here's a sample) he's down from his highest weight, but certainly is still obese. He did the Weight Loss Center route in 2009 -- including appetite suppressants and a specialized diet. The problem is, that's not learning how to eat for the long term with real food. Any time you decide to go back to eating real food after a diet like that, the weight goes right back on.
To lose weight long term, you need to find a way to eat that you can do for the rest of your life. Otherwise you're just kidding yourself.

You are so full of sh**. There is nothing "nice" about MO trying to force people to eat the way she wants them to eat, especially since she doesn't follow her own advice. Trying to get laws passed the force us to do what she wants in the way of eating is just BS. This is just another example of the Bozo's tyrannical styple.

How is this different than any other First Lady project? Laura Bush had education, Nancy Reagan did “Just Say No”...
I’d rather see Meshell work on this instead of jetting around taking vacations on the taxpayer dime.

If Michelle wants simply to be a catty busybody giving advice to the public that many suspect she ignores herself, that’s one thing. But lefties are not content to stop with that. They want to tax and ban all manner of things that are not evil in themselves, but only in their use to excess.
To: VictoryGal
Sorry....no respect for Manchelle.
She’s raping America just like her sissy-boy hubby is. I don’t care to buy her another lobster, while I’m eating hamburger helper. She RAPES America while telling us we need to cut back.
And what adult NEEDS Manchelle to tell them how to eat? What adult needs Manchelle to tell them how to feed their offspring?
If an adult needs Manchelle’s input....they AREN’T ADULT.
Let’s not consider her “diet” proposals.....
Let’s INVESTIGATE her complicity in the downfall of America.
