NYT's Paul Krugman: U.S. Students 'Could Learn A Little Bit' From Violent Protests in UK, France

It’s not quite leftist academic Frances Fox Piven calling for violent Greece-style riots in America. But in an interview with the University of Oklahoma’s student newspaper (he was in town February 22 for a talk), Paul Krugman, respected economist turned partisan liberal New York Times columnist, suggested American college students should pick up some tips from students in London and Paris about fighting public spending cuts.

The Daily: You mentioned how children and students suffer from cuts to public agencies. What advice would you give students to impact the political scene?

Krugman: “Well, you know, maybe we could learn a little bit from British students or French students who actually demonstrated against these cuts. What happens, we’ve got actually in America, the seniors are very noisy. Everybody knows you don’t dare cut programs for the elderly, so let’s cut programs for the youth. If we can change that, then we’d do a little better.”

And what exactly would we learn from British and French students? Violent protest tactics, for one.

I thought the Tea Party members were the ones advocating violence.

Nobody suffers more from gov’t spending than the children of taxpayers.

Wouldn’t work here. The people who pay the bills in France and the UK are unarmed. Not so here.

As we all know, the “civil”, “tolerant” and “peaceful” has long been pinning for a return of the ‘60’s glory days. They have long lusted after the UW campus style bombings, the Fr. Groppi type riots, the Kent state backlash. They have done all they can to advocate such action while maintaining deniability.

Make no mistake, Krugman and the leftists WANT this type of rioting. As long as this is done by leftists the MSM will totally justify it. If it is done by conservative then they will go berzerk and blame Palin, the Tea Party, Timothy McVeigh or any conservative they can smear, whether justified or not.

Nah, the criminals, elites and politicians own oodles of 'em.

Oh, wait, I'm being doubly redundant in my description, aren't I?

Ah for the Good Old Days of university riots, waving the VC flag and getting tear gassed, or even beaten!

Take over the University Admin building! Throw your medals on the WH lawn! Listen to rants from battery-powered bullhorns!

Kent State, Sterling Hall, smoke, flame, AGITATION!

Now that most of the founders of SDS and Weather Underground are retiring, they get nostalgic for a little action. Seeing it overseas brings back pleasant memories.

This is precisely why Gov. Walker can NOT back down in Wisconsin.

The Left is prepared to unleash these tactics nationwide. If the Wisconsin GOP folds and the tactics are deemed to have been successful, we are in for one long, hot, French-Greek summer I fear.

Everytime a state legislature wants to trim a budget you’ll have riots in the streets.

Sure Paul, You lead the charge!

Indeed, Krugman and the ruling elites are looking for young useful idiots to do their dirty work.

Krugman: “Well, you know, maybe we could learn a little bit from British students or French students who actually demonstrated against these cuts.

This little fag couldn't whip Charles Krauthammer unless he pushed his wheelchair down the steps and he wants someone else to do violence.

Did you forget to mention, Paul, that they’ll also be taxpayers one day?

I bet it was just an oversight

What Paul doesn’t grasp is that if we descend into French Revolution style chaos, the high profile people like him will be the first killed by the masses. Paul is an idiot. Period...

Back in 1984 Bloom County had a week's worth of cartoons dealing with radical students taking over a college campus. The author, Berke Breathed, is a lefty but this string of comic strips were brutally funny.

And Paul Krugman could learn a lot from reading Thomas Sowell.
