Former Senate candidate and tea party favorite Christine ODonnell will not be donning a leotard anytime soon. The Republican announced Monday night that she has declined an invitation to samba with celebrities on Dancing With the Stars.
The Delaware Republican said in a statement that she finds the ABC show to be one of the few uplifting TV shows out there. But shes choosing instead to finish her book on the 2010 election cycle and her new political action committee

Not surprising. Especially if she wants any kind of political future.
I guess she has learned her lesson, though I fear the damage has been done with the witch thing.
If she wants a political future. She has no choice. The public will demand it.
Smart move. That was a set-up to embarrass her. Personally I believe B. Palin was invited on that show hoping that she would bomb and be voted off on the first week and by extension humiliating her mom.
I’m glad too, even though I would have loved it.
She’s been Palin’d by the MSM so why not, or does she not quit on her dream in politics?
Sincerely Push me Pull me...
Smart move if she intends to have a role in politics in the future.
Doesn’t matter. I’m voting for Ralph Macchio.
Sarah flanked them when they did it to her.
Who could stomach watching that Liberal cow?
Come on, Cry Baby deserved it. Would have loved Bristol to win though.
It wasn’t like when Stacey Keibler got robbed...
Agree - she should probably Delay such an appearance until she exits politics.
theyd just make her look like a lite weight or a clutz and use any misstep for an ad campaign. No win in this at all
The next series will be full of low lifes
FR has rules for cute women, right? ;)
Indeed. Where’s the COD pics?!
you really think Bristol Palin was the best dancer on that show?
It was even bad judgement revealing she got the invitation in the first place.
Unfortunately, aspiring women candidates need to learn to forego the siren calls of entertainment TV, tweetings, twitterings and the like. They're trying to appeal to the country's yutes and it just doesn't work....and it does them no good politically.
For instance, one woman pol, Michele Bachman, has eschewed becoming identified with any of this stuff. She keeps her nose to business, her home life private, all the while reflecting a measure of "gravitas" and a business-like air.
All this is rather nonsensical, of course, but that's the way it is today. As much as we loathe Hillary, she does keep her nose to the grindstone, strives to appear "stateswomanly" and doesn't get sidetracked by show biz, twittermania and other new age seductions to get attention.
I think you very well might be.
I once was similar. I wanted nothing to do with DWTS. I thought it was just a goofy idea for a show. But after watching it now for several seasons, I must say I’ve become a fan. Tom Bergeron is just brilliantly funny. And it’s an okay show for the kids to watch, too.
As for American Idol, it was the same thing years ago. I just thought the idea was simply “ick.” But you can’t really call it amateur when the show has launched the talents of Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood & Kelly Clarkson.
Thanks for the reply. I can understand how the competitive nature of such programs draws a passionate following.
Well, for what it's worth, I may also be the only person in the world that has never seen Stars Wars, Star Trek and other sci-fi fare.
What's odd is that I'm a software designer (C++, C, Perl and Java) and nearly everyone in that field enjoys that genre. On the other hand, most of my colleagues don't care much for sports, which is my entertainment of choice.
I have to confess, I broke down and watch part of DWTS for the final to see how Bristol Palin would do. Wouldn’t do it again.
The producers want these attractive controversial conservative women to expand their audience. They know conservatives tend not to watch network tv, so what better way to draw them in ?
Yes he is even though he keeps Libtard leanings "almost" to himself.
Good call on her part.
Uh, I believe you are thinking of Rosie O'Donnell.
DWTS is a very tough, competitive program. If you have a problem with rhythm or dancing complicated routines, you will be mocked by the MEDIA & people on Facebook, etc. Last season Bristol Palin had to go up against Jennifer Grey from the movie 'Dirty Dancing.'
Bristol worked hard and did well for herself, earning a ton of money along the way.
The best thing O'Donnell did for herself was to say no.
O'Donnell was quoted as saying she has 2 left feet. If she meant that, she doesn't belong on DWTS. Kate Gosselin went on that show with 2 left feet, and she's still being ridiculed... a year later.
