I was just told by a friend that a plumber had told her that plain ol’ yeast does as much good as the brand-name stuff at breaking down waste materials in septic systems and is a whole lot cheaper by the pound in places like Sam’s club or other big outlets.. I get it for $3/#.

I was reading a thread on septic tank on FR the other day and the Yeast solution was disputed pretty clearly. Seems it makes it hard for the bacteria to live.
