A former Central Ohio news anchor is learning the hard way that cotton thongs are not tax deductible.
Anietra Hamper landed in court after claiming a variety of beauty-related expenses on her tax return, including manicures, teeth whitening, gym fees, sportswear, bedding, cotton bikini underwear and thongs she insisted were necessary to do her job.

As bad as that is, it was the visual of Andy Rooney in a thong that disturbed me. Thanks a lot. Oh well, back to my naked psychologist again.

Expenses needed to be an anchor but not an ordinary office worker are fine to deduct (nails, hair, makeup, orthodontia, botox).
Others that any worker needs (underwear) is not.
I believe that the IRS allowed a stripper’s boob-job as an occupational expense, but that story suspends credibility because cash-paid strippers aren’t big taxpayers needing deductions.
