With the recent decision by the Supreme Court, some information came to light that I do not think is well-known. And that is, Fred Phelps ran for office 5 times... wait for it... as a DEMOCRAT! In the link there is audio of Michael Medved making this point and then a dissenting email a few days later where Medved again drives the point home. there are also links to a couple of blogs that knew this information some time ago as well as photos of similarities between leftist demonstrators and the Democratic Westboro Baptists. There are also photos of the Phelps clan with Al and Tipper Gore! Enjoy.
The real reason they have done these protests is to get a USSC ruling against them. Yes that’s right they wanted to loose this case. Then the left could use the ruling to attack any speech they consider hate speech. Rush, Sean, Beck, Levin etc. and any speech by a church that they considered hate speech, anti-homo.
Notice that the left doesn’t attack this group at all, ever. Yes they refer to it as a fundmentialist group but the homo’s scaggs or other’s on the left ever attack them.
There are never any protests at the WBC, ever!
I had a difficult time explaining these creeps to my 9-year old son the other day when he caught their story and their protest signs on the news. I did explain their party affiliation which makes them an easy target for the father of all lies, Satan, and also explained how Satan speaks through them in the same way a snake was used in Geneses.

Also, the MSM is a tool continually calling this family a “church”. Who besides the Phleps have been protesting. Would love to see the membership rolls of this so called church - which looks like an empty bldg to me.
Also, don’t you think if Westboro was really a church the IRS would be looking into taking away non profit status due to the politicking?

As I asked on another site— WHO is funding these evil people? It seems they have unlimited funding— gasoline alone would seem prohibitive. Can their funding be cut- an army that has its supply lines cut isn’t going anywhere.And is there a way their “church” if one exists could be visited by like minded —in kind protests(equally loud and intrusive) during their sacred? time.
you make a good point- i was trying to guess their angle. TRYING to get a judge to silence them might be their objective, so that they could then use it to shut up all conservatives (like Rush, Hannity, Etc) This ‘win’could be a big loss for that subterfuges

The leader is a known associate of left-wing organizations tied to Van Jones.

A previous poster may be onto something- they WANTED to have the supreme court shut them down so that they could then use it as ‘precident’ to shut down Rush, Hannity, ... anyone else they deem ‘hate speach’
Don’t think liberals dont plan these things. Roe-v-Wade was planned right from the beginning- all they needed was a woman to represent- they actually SEARCHED for one until they found Jane Roe (Norma McCorvey).
Their “church” is not really a church, it has no congregation. They go around the country picketing the funerals of servicemen. They also picketed Ronald Reagan's funeral and the funeral of Christine Green, the 9 year old girl who was recently killed in Tuscon.
The MSM never reports their close ties to the Democrat Party(Big surprise). I'm not sure where they get their money to travel the country protesting but I would guess they receive funding from the Democrats. The family has supposedly done very well financially, but no one knows how they got their money.
If you are right, then we will never hear from them again (since a loss is NOT what they really wanted)

The ruling also has an unintended but welcome consequence- it protects the kind of hate speech the left despises most, like "God loves your unborn child", "God loves the sinner but hates the sin" and "We will pray for you".
Well I must admit, this isn’t the first time i’ve been accused of being twisted.

This is how to bring them down. Whenever they arrive to protest something, FReepers, Tea Partiers, and other patriots should bring signs identifying these as Democrats, Posers, Dem Donors, etc., etc., possibly use a sign with the Al Gore pix on it. That'll shut them down in a hurry, or make them lash out at the anti-Felps.
