Ozombie WILL destroy this country’s ability to have energy!!

It is time this country got rid of the EPA and the DOE!!!
Time for them to lose THEIR jobs!!

The appearance of stupidity is a calculated deceit.

Then they’ll just pick up and go to Brazil, where they do not have to do any such thing.

Meanwhile, the Chinese and Cubans will be drilling diagonally from offshore Cuba to tap into the oil that the US government denies to American interests.

Way to go, team 0bama.

Good Riddence! We didn't need the jobs, oil, and resulting tax revenues anyway.

[The Dept. of the Interior] contend the permitting process is necessarily taking longer than it did prior to the deadly BP blowout. Operators must prove they can comply with tougher safety and environmental rules implemented after the disaster, the bureau said.

Yeah, right. Meanwhile gas prices are rising over $3.50/gallon while some bureaucrat shuffles unnecessary paper in Washington. Remember that "Hope and Change" BS so many people swallowed a few years ago? Well, for most of us, the Hope part has totally evaporated and the Change that has happened is a vastly different package than we were promised. My Hope now is that people get a little smarter before they walk into the next election booth.

Obama is patting himself on the back for getting rid of another deep water drilling rig.

We have to be mindful of the fact that Obama and the leftist Democrats have a very different view of the world.

In order for Obama to impose “green” (as in expensive) energy upon the voters he needs to have the price of cheap energy skyrocket.

When Obama cuts the oil supply by forcing drilling rigs to leave, then we are vulnerable to world price rises as we are seeing now.

The Bodreaux and Amos Runner were sister ships and not DP or dynamically positioned. They were also old submersibles that were converted to semi subs and for deepwater they were not good as they had no deck space. DP drillships are better in the gulf and there is lots of them coming.

In addition, the new requirements are for double shear rams. Maybe their BOP didnt have one and they didnt want to buy a new one since the waiting time for BOPs is 2 years and the costs exorbitant. The derrick loads on the runner and bodreaux were 1.5 M which were low compared to the new drill ships with 2.5 M. It is probably better off in Brazil.

That subsalt Brazil play looks to be huge, so I see the reason to pay for the move. But, we have our own subsalt play in the Gulf that I am sure will surprise us someday with some large fields if we can ever look through all that damn salt with seismic. We need to grab this rig as soon as possible: Noble Corp. to construct ultra-deepwater drillship

Doesn’t this benefit George Soros? I thought I read somewhere that he is heavily involved in drilling off the coast of Brazil. Hmmm, funny how that worked out.

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

Soros’s Oil Spill Payoff

Within 48 hours after President Obama issued the six-month moratorium on deep-water drilling, the George Soros-backed Brazilian oil company, Petrobras, contacted a large New Orleans company, Laborde Marine, which services the deep-water drilling market. The company was seeking to lease all its vessels. “If the moratorium on deep-water drilling is not lifted, 33 semi-submersible rigs and/or drill ships affected will simply go to other countries where they will be well received, such as Brazil,” Cliffe F. Laborde and J. Peter Laborde, Jr. wrote in a June 4 letter to their Louisiana Senators.

Could this be merely a happy coincidence for George Soros, the major financial backer of Obama’s presidential campaign who also has $811 million invested in the Brazilian oil company, Petrobras? Wasn’t it enough of a payback to Soros when the Obama Administration loaned up to $10 billion to Petrobras?

Soros, with his far left-wing organization, MoveOn, is called the Godfather of world socialism. But most relevant currently is that he has been an enthusiastic proponent of global warming and environmental liberalism. He has urged adoption of a global carbon tax. Could it be more than coincidence that his position is strikingly similar to what Obama called for in his June 14 Oval Office speech on the Gulf oil spill and future energy actions?
