For more than two years now, when asked about the controversy surrounding Barack Obama's birth certificate, you have consistently provided one answer.
It's all nonsense, you said, because you're confident that, if there were anything to the questions of constitutional eligibility, Bill and Hillary Clinton would have found out about it through their magnificent opposition-research machine and used it during the 2008 campaign.
I don't know whether you truly believe that or if it's just a clever dodge.
Taking that position on what may be the most important issue of the day – whether the man occupying the White House is actually legally eligible to be there – positions you as a reasonable person among your colleagues in the media, a comfortable stand that you might believe will come in handy should you decide to run for president.
But here's something else to consider: Based on the polling data I have seen, I would be willing to wager that 80 to 90 percent of your supporters know Obama is hiding something. I don't believe they will respect your position nearly as much as your media friends do.

This debate has maxed on it's returns per Obama looking 'good' while making those who value truth; look bad. The diminishing returns have shifted; and these detractors will be better served; if they get on the side of truth - and not hang onto Obama's fraudulent, sleazy; ill-intentioned, version of it.
Leadership has it's own tests; and this issue, IS a critical challenge. It should not be summarily dismissed.

One would think by this time people would’ve figured this out - they can’t talk about Obama’s eligibility without endangering themselves, their families, or the organizations for which they work. At least these media outlets are still functioning so we have some information which is better than none!

One of the problems with Huckabee’s dance around the issue is that Philip Berg, one of Hillary’s campaign workers in PA, tried to raise this issue prior to the Democratic National Convention in 2008. When they dissed him, he then tried to have the issue addressed in different courts all the way up to the inauguration. There was always some unreasonalbe excuse why no one would address it.
So for Huck to say that the Clinton’s would have smoked it out is just nonsense. I think they’ve all been told on FOX not to get involved in this issue. (Money before country).
The Huck should just stick to his crappy tv show and stay out of everything else. The writers make sense when it comes to the Clintons not bringing it up. From a monday morning QB perspective one could see how landing the cushy WH position could have been the price of keeping quiet on the whole BC thing.
Im still up in the air about the whole thing, theres a ton of circumstantial evidence to show hes not a citizen.
From what I understand is that his mom was too far along in her pregnancy to fly to Hawaii, so she birthed him in Kenya then quickly flew to Hawaii to claim US citizenship. My only question is why the urge??? The Obama parents dont seem to have any significance on the world stage, so why the need to bring baby Barry to the US?
I tend to think he was born here and just likes playing games about it to keep everyone distracted from the other nonsense he’s doing.

Huckabee’s attitude about the birth certificate issue indicates he would also coldly dismiss voter concerns if he were to be elected. He’s not a good choice to be a caring Chief Executive. If he will not recognize voter concerns about Obama’s legitimacy I wonder how cynical and skeptical he would be about US border security, amnesty, the right to own a gun, the sanctity of contracts, and private property rights. He would be a bad president IMHO.

Just to add a bit more about Beck and the threat he claims, a Soros henchman was sent to tell Beck to cool it, but Glenn sent one of his people to the meeting, and when Beck’s guy told the Soros guy to stuff it, the Soros guy then pulls out a copy of “A Face in the Crowd”, and urges that Beck watches it...

Anyone who brings up the ‘birth issue’ is playing right into the hands of this carefully planned scheme.
Let’s face it, this regime had full intentions of implementing Socialist/ Marxist programs and knew the American public would be repulsed by them.
So, they had to have a plan in place in order to get reelected...enter the ‘birth certificate’. It was planted early on with enough errors to be discovered to cause a firestorm and it went viral. It was meant to be used expressly for 2012.
They also knew that the issue would wane over the course of years of debate so to revive the issue so they depended on their minions in the press to bring it back into the public discussion in time for the 2012 election cycle.
To defeat their scheme our side needs, not to ignore it completely but ridicule it with humor when the press tries to draw them into the discussion and then drop it.
If the birth certificate is allowed to become the center of debate in 2011 and 2012 it will suck all the oxygen out of the election cycle and distract from the real dire issues our Republic faces.
In the end, they will have the winning hand if they can escalate this issue into a Republican, Conservative, Tea party scheme to remove the first black president from office.
The ensuing rioting in the streets across our country will be the beginning of the end of our Republic.

I know one thing: If Huckabee applies to run for president in the Republican primaries, he better attach a copy of his long form birth certificate, or we are going to start questioning whether or not HE is who he says he is and whether or not he is even eligible to be president.

I would not doubt that possibility and you have some carefully thought out points here. This is a distinct line of reasoning that has appeared on FR. It is up to certain of us to think through any idea, however it may run counter to what we believe. At this time on your post, for myself, I would say "the jury is still out". I would not put it past the brains behind the President, whom I believe are more to be feared than he is.
On the other side, I plead for the "two edged sword". The absolute lack of hard and fast information about the President's academic performance and the funding of such expensive and prestigious is disturbing. The questionable COLB, rubber stamped on the back with the year 2007 on laser paper, is only too fraught with discrepancies.
Again, I sincerely believe that every avenue of inquiry and every line of thought should be considered. Yes, I agree that patriots and those who do fear for the Republic should not put all their eggs in one basket. Again, the birth certificate issue could be the ace card. No, it wouldn’t. In and of itself, the long form birth certificate cannot establish natural born citizenship so long as it might show his father was a citizen of Kenya, as Obama has claimed his entire life, and around which he has built his life story’s narrative. Absence of a HI birth certificate COULD serve to eliminate him. But his producing such a form doesn’t put the question of Constitutional eligibility to rest.
The birth certificate question is yet another red herring, like the references to Obama as an “American citizen.” Both get about halfway there, but don’t satisfy the Constitutional question. The Constitution requires getting ALL the way there. Note how the left always says ‘he’s a citizen.’ Well, that might well be, but very few say he’s a ‘Natural Born citizen.’ It all serves as a distraction from the actual requirements and language of the U.S. Constitution.

Which Obama camp scheme are you talking about, because it seems that many schemes have come from the Obama camp over the years.
As I see it, the Obama camp wants to distract us from what I consider a key issue: Did Obama's stepfather Soetoro legally adopt Obama? Enduring minds want to know.
NOTE: As we know, Obama is a big sports fan and he was a very good athlete as a youngster.
So why didn't Obama play Little League? Was it because he would have had to provide a long form birth certificate? Was it because his mother didn't want anyone to see it because Obama was adopted by Soetoro, or because Obama was not born in the United States?

I’d say America needs a refresher on its history. In 1776 there were 56 men who were willing to risk their “lives, .. wealth and sacred honor” to commit the treasonous act of simply signing their names on a document addressed to an autocratic ruler, and also to confront the then most powerful military in the world.
In the ensuing war, most of them DID lose their fortunes, many lost their lives or family members’ lives, but none ever lost his sacred honor. Today we are hard pressed to find 56 public men who have ‘sacred honor’ to sacrifice. Nor do we have any Thomas Paines or Patrick Henrys.
We’ve become an ill-educated nation with no backbone if we are intimidated by street mobs. If that is the case, all that sacrifice, and the sacrifice for generations since is for naught.

I absolutely agree with your statement that we have become an ill-educated nation but I think we still have the backbone to fight for our Republic.
But, I believe, since the installation of this current regime, they would welcome street riots, in fact, they may be just counting on it. It has gathered an army of professional protesters who do not fear spilling blood in the streets to achieve their goal.
My question to you is, what action do you think this president could take once the rioting starts and blood is running in the streets?
I don’t believe that raising the eligibility question should be held in abeyance because the nation elected a community organizer with thuggish friends.
IF the SCOTUS were to accept one of the eligibility challenges, and IF they interpreted the “Natural Born citizen” language in a way to exclude that community organizer, the process would be slow, affording the public time to look at the question and its significance, and to anticipate the possibility of the unseating. In that case, I believe public opinion more than any court would force a resignation rather than any legal proceedings. I don’t believe the reaction would be quite so severe as you envision.
I’ve lived through two related events: The SCOTUS ruled that Nixon had to reveal his previously secret tapes to the Congressional committee investigating Watergate. Their ruling didn’t force him from office, but by forcing him to put out publicly those tapes, it greased the skids for a change in public opinion, and Congressional Republicans persuaded him to resign.
The other event was the riots in DC following the MLK assassination. It was horrible. But, it ended. And the rebuilding took place. The country moved on. The burned out corridor of 1968 is a ‘hip’ place today. Unfortunately, nothing was done to change the mob mentality. So they and their spiritual heirs are still with us. There could possibly be a reprise. We’d survive it.
The Framers set out a brilliant plan of government to survive damned near anything except apathy. The test, as Franklin said, is “if we can keep it.” What we can’t survive is undermining our Constitution and the rule of law, regardless of who does it, and regardless of how mobs might take to the Constitution being enforced.
Some would incite violence by insisting this was done only because the community organizer is (half)black. Forget that any such ruling would affect anyone whose French or Italian bio-father was in the US briefly on a student visa and knocked up (as it were) a young American girl. And forget that this community organizer has nothing in his background remotely similar to 99% of African Americans. His family has no slavery history; both parents were Ph.D.’s; he went to the best schools; he was raised as a middle class kid, no different from many others of all races who lived in HI at the time. Cooler heads would ultimately prevail.
IMO, the street mobs scenario is be far more likely with a continuing downward spiral of the economy than unseating the community organizer, if it came to that.

Actually, I don’t think it should be held in abeyance either. Several states have already started to institute laws concerning this issue. IMO, this is a good idea.

Looking at who is currently holding the top job of law enforcement in our country, the rule of law has been set aside in deference to their cause.
