It appears the rebels are a lot more organized and well led than the media knows. Reporters get there info from refugees and lesser lights. Also look at the pictures, these guys are not hungry beggars off the street. They are in good physical condition, mostly in 20’s and 30’s. There is more to this rebel bunch than meets the eye, IMO.

Agreed...these guys are professional fighters from some existing organized and well-trained military force.

Sky News: Libya: 'SAS Unit And Diplomat Held Hostage'

The SAS's intervention has allegedly angered Libyan opposition figures who ordered the armed and plain-clothes soldiers to be locked up on a military base.

If you're not in uniform you are a spy. They are in their rights to execute them.

I am not so sure they are. Are the the captors of them a legitimate and recognized force?

I agree with you if they were captured by an armed force of a country during a battle.

I am not so sure the people doing the capturing are a legit force.

Either way I think they would do best by not executing them.

And therein lies the cruz of the problem. Who is the legitimate government of Libya? Either way, the Brits took a huge gamble sending soldiers out of uniform into the middle of a civil war. Will the rebels execute them? I doubt it. But Britian already had a problem with how cozy they’ve been with Gaddafi. Now it’s worse.
