A man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for beating and blinding a 78-year-old widow inside her Daly City home after she surprised him during a robbery attempt, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Jose Perez-Gonzalez, 31, an illegal immigrant who was living in South San Francisco, committed an especially horrific, savage and vicious crime, Judge Craig Parsons of San Mateo County Superior Court said Wednesday as he sentenced him to 11 years and eight months behind bars.
Parsons called Perez-Gonzalez's actions "selfish and stupid," said District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. The judge also ordered him to pay more than $103,000 in restitution.

And when it’s all said and done, he won’t get deported either. He gets 11 years of 3 hots and a cot and she is blind the rest of her life and probably so traumatized her life is over.

Brother was a retired corrections officer. Other brother retired cop. No, have never done time and never will, I don’t do drugs and I make my own money and the government can keep their SS, if they just leave me the hell alone.
This would be one time where Sharia law would be good, an eye for an eye, and both of them.
My Grandfather served a year in Raiford Prison in Florida after being wrongly convicted of Manslaughter. He was sentenced to 20 years but fortunately the Governor gave him a full pardon.
Granddaddy said he was well treated. He even started a Sunday school in prison. I will say he always thought the judge who sentenced him was an idiot.
Even if this creep intended to pay, I don’t think there’s an amount on this earth that could truly provide true restitution for this crime. This creep has forever stolen an innocent woman’s sight, her independence...and probably her life. There’s no telling what long-term health issues (beyond the blindness) the victim will be afflicted with in the years she has left, or how many years she’s lost as a result of the attack.
THIS CASE SHOULD BE NATIONAL NEWS AND WE SHOULD BE CLOSING DOWN THAT BORDER AND MANNING IT WITH TROOPS WITH ROEs to shoot to kill, no warning.

I would have thought removing his eyes and releasing him
into the general prison population would have been punishment enough. Eye for eye, etc.
I would have to disagree with the esteemed Judge Parsons.
Perez-Gonzalez's actions were way more than stupid. They were monstrous, and worthy of life imprisonment.
Pretty much the way it works on the outside, too. Just takes a lot of people a while to figure it out. LOL!
This is Caliphonya, probably be closer to 3-5 with ‘good time’. Then back to his life of terrorizing honest people. In the United States. What a Country!
Maybe her family will go beat and blind his mother!
