Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue has vetoed a Republican-backed challenge to the federal health care overhaul that North Carolina's attorney general argues is unenforceable.
Perdue announced Saturday her rejection of the measure, which attempts to block a provision requiring most people in 2014 to buy health insurance or face a penalty. The challenge was a GOP fall campaign platform plank.

chances for an override?
Are there enough votes for an override?
She’ll be running on this decision in 2012.
Hope Ms. Perdue gets kicked to the curb come election time,
with prejudice.
Should we camp out at the Capitol?
Democrats vs. USA
One of many great opportunities the GOP missed in the 1980’s and 1990’s was to build a strong conservative Republican party at the state level. GOP controlled both US Senate seats through some of the period and often a majority of the US Congressional seats. There were also a couple of Republican governors. However, the state legislature and local elected positions were left to the Democrats. While in the 1980’s many southern Dems were moderate to conservative, today they are as leftist as in the rest of the country.
If the GOP had built a strong base in 80’s and 90’s we would not have Governor Perdue today. Likely we would also have been spared the one term of carpetbagger Senator Liddy Dole and would not be living with the Chuck Shumer protege Kay Hagen as Senator today.

We’ve got a similar situation here in NH. Our ‘Rat attorney general refuses to challenge the law (and our ‘Rat governor approves). The legislature would love us to join the other states that have challenged ObamaCare but can’t do a thing about it at least until 2013, when we will hopefully have a new, Republican governor.
Veto power to the governor was passed in 1997, it has only been used a few times, but I believe this is the third time already for Bev. She has got to go.
The Democrats took a shellacking in the November 2010 elections at the state level in many states.
People are waking up, I hope not too late. They created a Frankenstein monster with the old “yellow dog Democrat” philosophy; now it’s entrenched and lawless in its ruthless determination to overturn elections through fomenting riots and demonstrations to retail POWER (that they consider is their BIRTHRIGHT).
IBTBTY (In Before the Blame the Yankees -see tagline).
Seriously, though, the NC GOP, like the national GOP, cannot put up a piece of crap, careerist, ruling class buffoon like Pat McCrory if they are going to get this seat back after 20 years of Hunt-Easley-Perdue.
Methinks that the democrats are regretting their decision to have their convention in the Tar Heel State.
11/10 was the 1st election since I’ve lived in NC (19 yrs) that DIDN’T have Carter Wrenn’s fingerprints on it. And look what happened!
Mr. CcCrory would be the govenor now except for the robot minded, first time, straight democrat ticket voters who elected our current president. As an aside, I’ve heard the north-bound lanes of I95 have reopened.
Every time the Bolshecrats have a chance to climb out of their communist hole they dig themselves in deeper.
