Obama's 'starve America first' energy policy creates a backlash
Washington Examiner ^ | March 7, 2011 | Ron Arnold

"Energy is the capacity to do work." That simple truth from Physics 101 has everything to do with gas prices spiking at the pump as Moammar Gadhafi's war planes bomb Libya's rebel-held oil district and the whole Middle East seethes in unrest. With shaky foreign energy supplies threatening to deepen the worst recession since World War II, why doesn't America protect its capacity to do work by drilling for more oil and gas here at home? Simple truth from Politics 101: Big Green's extreme anti-energy ideology permeates the Obama administration.

Dan Kish, senior vice president for policy at the D.C.-based Institute for Energy Research, told me, "The Obama administration is deliberately embargoing our own domestic energy from us, from Americans.

He and his agency heads all believe in the politics of scarcity -- force society to live with less. The most anti-energy interior secretary in history is Obama's Ken Salazar -- who is also presently in contempt of court for withholding deepwater Gulf of Mexico oil drilling permits."

Department of the Interior Secretary Salazar, a former U.S. senator from Colorado well practiced in Washington's pretended niceties, wields power with self-assured arrogance that needs no bluster. Two days before Christmas last year, he issued Secretarial Order 3310, in which through bureaucratic fiat he created a new category of off-limits federal property that he calls "Wild Lands."

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., held a hearing last week to criticize Salazar's end-run around congressional authorization and the Wild Lands order's adverse impact on jobs and economic growth. Hastings was clearly furious, ending his opening statement with, "This administration should be on notice that unilateral decisions and orders to impose restrictive, job-destroying policies will be met with firm resistance."

I don’t know - maybe 30 years of eco-stupidity?

$30 billion/year to say “NO”. That’s the Department of Energy’s budget and that’s all they do. No oil, no gas, no coal, no shale, no seep water drilling, no nuclear, no refineries, no power plants, no wind, no solar - that is their “accomplishments” since its formation.

We are MORE dependent on foreign supplies from MORE unstable regimes (see Libya, Venezuela, Mexico, etc.) than ever. Department of Energy is a criminal conspiracy to destroy the economy.

" Obama's 'starve America first' energy policy creates a backlash "

One of the backlashes is that people feeling the pain of higher gas prices, the pain over the failed economy, the pain of losing their jobs, losing their homes, problems in the middle east, that people will get tried of being labeled by the MSM and liberals of being tar and feathered of being called " a Racist ".
People won't care anymore of being called a Racist.
We will have people stand up to these race hustlers and tell them to shut up and sit down.

We are the only first world country in the world without a comprehensive energy policy. TBoone Pickens has been screaming his head off for years about this.

0bambi channeling Sir Winston Churchill:

In his "History of WWII" Churchill gives the strategy for defeating the nazis:

1. Target for destruction oil refining capacity.

2. Destroy coal mining and distribution

3. Target manufacturing capacity, wil ball bearings top priority.

Bombing the 2 dams and flooding the Rhur Valley was just icing on the cake

I don’t see it as a national form of suicide.

I see it as a national form of murder of its citizen’s way of life by their own government.

Our current energy policy reflects Obama’s desire to level the playing field on the world stage. Since it is impossible to lift the rest of the world up to America standard of living, the only recourse is to lower American standard of living to meet that of the rest of the world. This is the overall impetus of his Presidency.

I agree.

To Obama and his flunkies, we are neo-colonialist racist pigs who deserve every kick in the teeth that they can deliver.

The Obamanistas won’t quit until they have dragged us down to Zimbabwe’s level.

When the foreign occupier employed the phrase 'fundamentally transforming America' two years ago, that's precisely what he meant. This racist of color has no intention of going quietly.

Obama & Soros -- the financial terrorist -- are thicker than blood. A man with a checkbook but no country.

Liberal financier Soros says that the Tea Party, being stupid, are misled. He made his billions by shorting over-valued currencies of countries in Europe and Asia. The Tea Party wants to cut the deficit, and return the dollar to a position of strength. Meanwhile, 'Helicopter Ben' Bernanke is printing hundreds of billions of dollar bills to weaken it. So George placed a bet, shorting the dollar, and the Tea Party policies would cost him a fortune. Is that about right?

Now add Africa and the Middle East and the rising futures price of oil...

It's going to get much worse before it get's any better, I'm afraid.

Soros at the White House-1sm
He bamboozled millions... gave us the old 'okee doke.'

Beyond the PC stuff, I believe that millions of Americans have simply become numb to what has gone on under the Regime and have simply come to accept a lower standard of living either consciously or unconsciously.

It’s funny how you can see it and even a dumbass like me can see it and yet the destruction wrought by the Obama Regime seems to escape the understanding of some of the most intelligent minds in America, many of whom slog along acting like we are just dealing with garden variety politics as usual.

I think that this is a case of “even the very elect shall be deceived.”

We all need to pray to God to grant us the Spirit of Discernment and to send his holy angels to protect and defend us both materially and spiritually.

1) Eliminate the deficit, reduce regulations, unleash capitalism to create jobs

2) Energy independence - domestic oil, coal, nuclear

3) Border Control - Military on the border, recall forces deployed overseas

I'm going to post tigerseye's excellent summary of Obama's energy policy. Apologies if this isn't the latest version.

The 0bama-Democrat-RINO (Progressive) "No Domestic Energy Policy!"

All of that puts the U.S. in a position that war for oil or
complete economic collapse will be our only choices.
You can't frustrate every source of domestic energy
without consequences. Our enemies will blackmail us
to the extent that we are vulnerable to blackmail.

0bama, the Democrats and RINOs are leading us into a real war for oil.
A war we won't have the energy to fight.
A war we don't need to fight because we have our own resources.

It Begins… First Oil Rig Relocates From Gulf to Foreign Waters

"As a result of the uncertainties surrounding the offshore drilling moratorium, we are actively seeking international opportunities to keep our rigs fully employed," Dickerson said. "We greatly regret the loss of U.S. jobs that will result from this rig relocation."

Idled Gulf Rigs Head For Africa

It is not just Gulf operations that are being effected either.

Wait and see for Shell {Shell puts Arctic drilling plans on hold, waiting on feds}

Let's not leave the refineries out.

EPA gives final "no" to Texas refinery permits

Then there are the land-based oil leases.

Judge Grills Feds on Pulling Drilling Leases

"A federal judge on Wednesday questioned Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's justification for canceling 77 drilling leases sold by the Bush administration around national parks in Utah."

(Salazar) issued Secretarial Order 3310, in which through bureaucratic fiat he created a new category of off-limits federal property that he calls "Wild Lands."

"Wild Lands" should be redefined to be uninhabitable land that is of absolutely no commercial use to anyone. That would restrict it a few mountaintops and some remote wasteland.

You are correct, this is not any kind of “garden variety politics as usual”.

To this day, I am appalled, simply appalled that this country ostensibly elected someone who was chums with someone like Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and “Reverend” Wright.

Just appalled, and amazed.

It might be stupidity, but it is more likely intentional.

The stupidity is among those who are drawn to environmentalism out of a desire to matter, and to feel good about themselves for “caring for the erf”.

Those who are duping them, though, know exactly what they’re doing - destroying capitalism, America, and freedom.

But he’s “historic” because he’s “black”! That makes up for EVERYTHING else, including his intentional destruction of the country.

That is the latest and the most complete version. I don't always use the whole thing. The first part, the list of non-actions, was actually compiled before 0bowdown was Pres. with the exception of the Gulf moratorium. This ridiculous no-energy policy has been going on for decades.

What in the blue blazes is wrong with our politicians? There is no excuse for this. Is it just the corruption of personal greed or do they really want to see this country crash and burn?

I see it as a national form of murder of its citizen’s way of life by their own government.

I see it as the suicide of liberalism and the Democrat party. As far as I'm concerned the extra money I pay at the pump to fuel my large SUV is the price tag for ejecting Obama in disgrace a couple of years from now. I consider it a bargain!

That oil will still be there when the grown-ups get back in charge.
