Believes U.S. Must Limit Consumption of Meat to Alleviate Global Hunger (Moonbats gone Wild!)
The San Leandro Times ^ | 3-3-11 | San Leandro Times

Editor:

The popular revolutions we are witnessing in the Middle East, while inspired by a desire for personal freedom and self-determination, are certainly sustained by a pervasive hunger pan-demic, particularly among the world’s less privileged populations.

Since last December, skyrocketing demand for food and dwindling supplies have driven the global Food Price Index to new records. Supplies have suffered from catastrophic floods and droughts linked to global warming and from gradual depletion of groundwater aquifers. Demand has been fueled by unchecked population growth and by diversion of massive amounts of grains into biofuel and meat production.

Hunger afflicts nearly one billion people worldwide, mostly women and children. It feeds massive popular migrations and unrest that, sooner or later, will affect us all.

Some of the causes of global hunger are beyond our personal control. But, as the world’s highest meat consumers, we have a special obligation to free up some grains for the hungry by limiting our own consumption.

With the broad availability of delicious and nutritious meat and dairy alternatives in every supermarket, there is no reason to delay. Entering “live vegan” in a search engine returns lots of good guidance.

This is why the American people need to take back the US from the Democrats; this Liberal prefers that WE starve to feed the rest of the world.

They never explain why my not eating something will cause that food to go to someone who is starving.

They never explain why they are so concerned with obesity and hunger at the same time. So tired of the fact that the world can never meet their nutritional standards.

Sheer idiocy. If America wants to contribute to alleviating hunger in other countries, we need to stop turning corn into motor fuel and stop paying farmers to keep land idle.

He’s another self-hating American who has lost touch with reality. Being a vegan makes as much sense as being a pacifist.

I don't know.

One good thing about the ethanol corn thing is they're making sodas with real sugar again.

I think that the dirt worshipping enviro-whackos should STFU and stop eating anything so as to “save” humanity!

Yeah, if I don't buy that steak at the market tonight they are going to ship it to the Middle East instead for someone else there to buy and eat?

Some of the causes of global hunger are beyond our personal control. But, as the world’s highest meat consumers, we have a special obligation to free up some grains for the hungry by limiting our own consumption.

Two points.

First - lack of grain isn;t the issue primary issue. Lack of reliable infrastructure is the issue. We could ship enough grain to Somalia to feed that nation for a year at little cost. Problem is, most of it would rot before getting out of port, and the rest of it would rot while the corrupt government (if you can even call it a government) gave it to it's chosen people instead of the people.

Second - GMO grains do great things for stopping people from starving to death. Until the holier than thou crowd stops pitching a fit about protecting the natives from the GMO nightmare that is making life good in the first world - people are going to keep starving.

Guess what - I'm not going to stop eating meat, or even reduce it, until the rest of the worlds figures out how to get food from point A to point B and accepts the benefits of modern agriculture.

Peace out - going to fill up with some e85 and grill a steak...

The biggest thing we in the U.S. can do to end world hunger is end Ethanol subsidies.

More of the “blame America first” crowd on the left. They truly believe that the only way to improve things in the rest of the world is to make them worse here.

If Africa took out all of the disciples of Mad Mo, they could feed themselves from the rich farm lands of the North, such as Uganda.

Fine. Let the liberals do without. All else being even, that leaves half the population eating tofu, and more steak for the rest of us.

It is simple, really. Beans make me flatulate. Flatulence contains methane, another of those notorious greenhouse gasses the moonbats had their panties in a swarm over. If I increase my intake of vegetable protein, I will increase my output of greenhouse gasses.

Now feed me steak before I cause the planet to overheat and burn up.

The Left is not only crazy, but they think we are.

Our cattle are grass fed. If you lefties think you want to take them, be prepared to have your ass kicked back to San Fran or Boston or wherever you slither back to....

“He’s another self-hating American who has lost touch with reality. Being a vegan makes as much sense as being a pacifist.”

Uh oh...I just became a vegan about two weeks ago...joined the CHIPs (Coronary Health Improvement Project) program. First week I was able to completely quit one of my many hypertension/heart disease medications and after a week and a half I was able to reduce my diabetes medications by a third. Eating vegan and exercising is proven to reverse heart disease and diabetes (diet caused diseases) and extend life. After two heart attacks, diabetes, COPD, and cancer I am tired of relying on medicine to live...God gave us healthy food and bodies designed to move. I don’t even miss meat and I was a big meat eater...my last meat meal was my mother’s fried chicken :).
