The signs are that Mitt Romney is running for president. With several Republicans edging ever closer to formally declaring their presidential candidacies, Romney told New Hampshire Republicans on Saturday that he’s the candidate who can beat Barack Obama on the central issue of the economy.

Economy? I didn’t know we needed a corporate raider to straighten out the economy.
Maybe that’s what we need. Many corporate raiders slash the payrolls as soon as they get control which would need be bad for the taxpayers.
We could use a corporate raider to straighten out the size and scope of the government, but Romney(Care) wasn’t really a downsizer on that end.
They also gut assets leaving a formerly successful company dead on the vine.
Romney likes big government. He created another bureaucracy for Romneycare.
But they also become liable for the takerover’s debt.

It's not just the economy. It's individual freedom, limited government, and basic human rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights. Real Americans, like Palin, Bachmann, and DeMint, would back off in the unlikely event that one of their proposals infringed on a fundamental right. The real problem with Mitt and with his twin in our White House is that they see a violation of fundamental rights and say "find a way to do what I want and get around that".
Really? I see little difference between Obama and Romney.
Romney will say anything to get elected.

We went out and tried to find out why they don’t. We found out that about half of them could afford to buy insurance if it were reasonably priced. They could afford to buy it, but they weren’t buying it. If we get sick, we can go to the hospital and get care for free.“ And we said: what? If somebody could afford insurance, they should either buy the insurance or pay their own way. They don’t have to buy insurance if they don’t want to, but pay their own way. But they shouldn’t be allowed to just show up at the hospital and say, somebody else should pay for me. So we said: No more free riders. It was like bringing “workfare” to welfare. We said: If you can afford insurance, then either have the insurance or get a health savings account. Pay your own way, but no more free ride. That was what the mandate did.

So I don't know why Romney hates ObamaCare. By Romney's own admission, if half of 47 million people can't afford health insurance but are forced to have it, then we, the taxpayer pay for that half.
He's proud all right. Too proud to serve or have anyone in his family serve, or admit that going to bed with a mint on your pillow at the Marriott isn't exactly the same as being shot at in Afghanistan or Iraq.

According to Murphy, while admitting the massive problems, he thinks the law can be fixed with yet more government intervention. Apparently, the people Romney appoints are about as bright as he is.

Big difference is that RomneyCare, if you will, was enacted Constitutionally, and that is, at the state level, instead of unconstitutionally at the federal level as ObamaCare was.
Combine that with the fact that Massachusetts is like a communist state — literally AND figuratively — and Romney was merely giving his constituents what they wanted, I think the comparison of RomneyCare to ObamaCare is at best moot at this point in time, and at worse self-defeating, as any harping on it by conservatives may just be used against us in a head-to-head with Obama in November, 2012.
So far, we have nobody declared for 2012 for our side. I think we should hold our applause for the end until ALL the candidates are announced. By picking on only the candidates flaws, we’re playing right into the hands of the Democrats.
Like it or not, Tax payers pay in virtually every state for the uninsured.

If he wins the Republican primaries fair and square I will vote for him. I didn’t like it when the liberal Republicans sat out the Goldwater campaign and I can’t see sitting out this one. Anyone who believes Romney would not be an improvement over Obama needs to be examined.
