Dad: I'll Kill My Son's Murderer If He's Released
MSNBC.Com ^ | 3/8/11 | Staff

The father of a five-year-old boy slain in 1975 has vowed to murder the man who did it "as aggressively and painfully as he killed my son" if he is released from prison early. John Foreman told WPRO-AM radio that he blamed himself for accepting a plea deal that saw Michael Woodmansee convicted of the second-degree murder of his son Jason in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

The father is doing the public a great service here. I wonder how many knew or remembered that scumbag’s crimes? Probably not many.

Now with the media attention, this case has essentially been re-opened in the minds of the public. They will be watching for this scumbag to be released and where.

Even if the dad doesn’t righteously and rightfully [IMO] kill this scumbag, he will have alerted folks to what’s lurking in their neighborhoods.

I've frankly wondered for years why (particularly with some of the lame sentences and perp releases on "technicalities") there isn't more vigilante justice.

I'm not endorsing it; I'm just surprised there hasn't been more of it.

I can't imagine that I would simply go home and and grieve if someone who obviously and purposefully killed one of my loved ones was let off the hook.

In the interview, Foreman claimed a journal kept by Woodmansee, which has not been released by police, details how the killer had eaten the young boy's flesh.

Hmm, probably true. Makes one wonder why the police kept it secret.

Liberals don’t believe in personal responsibility for actions. They don’t accept free will. They think that society makes people “snap” and commit crimes. They don’t believe in the death penalty. They think that no sentence for any crime should be over 14 years.

Let the man show the worm justice for the murder.

You would have to be in his shoes to understand the pain and rage he is holding inside.

I'm sure he doesn't care about the consequences of his action. And, while I agree with him, announcing his intentions is stupid if only because it might prevent him from being able to carry out his plan. (Government hides the guy to protect him, finds ways to harass Foreman etc.)

To protect the criminal. Where would the police be without criminals?

He's not just doing this for revenge. He's doing it out of a sense of justice...

Justice was denied to the father...

One of my friends has a proposal that makes payback under shari’a law look tame:

He thinks those who commit such heinous crimes need to be turned over to the family of the victim(s). At their option, they may either kill him outright or work the SOB to death as their slave, thereby replacing the contribution to the family unit his crime has denied the family and saving the 40K per year incarceration costs to taxpayers.

Works for me.

Pretty good IF the perp is truly guilty. If they do it and the perp is later found to be innocent, the entire family must undergo when the perp had to endure.

Fair is fair.

If it were me, another prisoner in that prison would be getting a carton of Marlboro’s once a week for the rest of his life for killing that lowlife

Call it what you will, the end result of this public declaration is he has created a barrier to achieving his desired results by stating he intends to end a life by his own hands.

If the police think his threat is credible, he will face the added problem of law enforcement interference before he has accomplished the deed.

If he seeks justice, revenge or something else, letting the world know his plans is one sure way to find those plans aborted by outside forces and in the end losing any chance to ever bring an end to the animal who killed his child.

Silence is golden.

Do the deed with silence and cold precision, or don’t do it at all.

The cops aren't stupid. Even if he said nothing he would be suspect number one when this guy was found dead or disappeared. Doing a clean murder with no evidence tying you to it is awfully hard when the police have you as their only suspect and go through your life with a fine tooth comb.

This ain't the movies.

If he goes through with it, announced, in broad daylight, he has a much better chance of beating the rap through jury nullification, than if he is skulking around like a predator, and trying to hide bodies under the cover of darkness.

By the way, I'm not saying the guy is rationalizing like I am.

That's just my thinking, strategerizing on the intertubes.

He probably doesn't give a damn whether he gets caught or not.
