That, from the new statement from NPR's Dana Rehm, is the shoe that took all day to drop. The entire statement, which also clarifies that Schiller decided to leave before the sting occurred:
The comments contained in the video released today are contrary to everything we stand for, and we completely disavow the views expressed. NPR is fair and open minded about the people we cover. Our reporting reflects those values every single day in the civility of our programming, the range of opinions we reflect and the diversity of stories we tell.**snip**
The assertion that NPR and public radio stations would be better off without federal funding does not reflect reality. The elimination of federal funding would significantly damage public broadcasting as a whole.
David Folkenflik has more, including the key detail that the "administrative leave" is, yes, confirmation that Schiller is gone. Schiller's first day at the Aspen Institute is April 1; I've checked in with the institute just to make sure he's still starting there.

NPR is a liberal Obama support organization and not deserving of my conservative views that are almost always underrepresented. Pull the plug and let the NE libs support their network. They certainly do not represent me.
The comments contained in the video released today are COMPLIMENTARY to everything we stand for,..
They’re scared to death at the potential loss, in not just Federal funding, but direct donations from listeners.
A position at MSNBC (GE & Microsoft) surely awaits him...
What do you want to bet that there are more tapes with other people?
What do you want to bet that there are more tapes with other people?
Pure. Comedy. Gold.

Clarifies = claimed.
The comments contained in the video released today are contrary to everything we stand for, and we completely disavow the views expressed. If that were remotely true, the other high-ranking NPR type at the meeting would have strongly objected to him making those statements.
Support James O’Keefe.
Project Veritas Investigates:
Mar 8 2011
Project Veritas’ latest investigation focuses on the publically-funded media organization, National Public Radio. PV investigative reporters, Shaughn Adeleye and Simon Templar posed as members of the Muslim Action Education Center, a non-existent group with a goal to “spread the acceptance of Sharia across the world.”
In this first video, produced by James O’Keefe, Shaughn and Simon sit down with NPR Foundation President Ron Schiller.
I KNOW folks who listen to them and believe that drivel. One is a SIL. Gullible....all of them.
Doesn’t change anything. They still need to be de-funded.
Here4’s my problem with the O’Keefe policy of this “gotcha” stuff: it’s a sword that cuts both ways. And I can’t help thinking it’s possible this type of “journalism” will have a backfiring effect of actually engendering sympathy for the target. Maybe not this particular guy, but someone down the road could become sympathetic. NPR needs to be fully defunded. But these underhanded things have a way of reaping some bad karma of the same kind.
The woman needs to be fired too!
Life inside that liberal bubble can get challenging...
Whoa, there! Don’t be so sure ALL NPR listeners are knee-jerk Liberals.
I know plenty of people who listen to NPR’s classical music programs, as most radio stations play only rock or country music. So folks donate money to NPR to fix their classical music fix. When editorial programs come on, they turn the radios off.
“a statement from NPR’s Dana Rehm”
(NPR VP of Communications)
Up till now I always wondered how Diana Rehm, a tragic sufferer of acute, unrelenting, and unlistenable oratory disembodiment incapacity, doubled down with cranial/anal inversion syndrome had her own NPR show.
Here is where he is going...his next job. And he’s on their page. I can’t believe their job offer still stands.
Turn about is fair play.
Every employee of NPR and CPB should assume they are on camera at all times.
Please, spare us the hand-wringing, whining and defeatism. This was a MAJOR victory!
...haven’t heard a word about sweet betsy liley and where she fits into this...probably on sabbatical already or fundraising from an undisclosed location...what fools to think we believe these desperate attempts to make them look like an unbiased news organization made us of just folks!
amen. they won’t truthfully admit these things under oath, so this is the only way to do it. and when they complain about the method, point to the 60 minutes stuff. the left is really reeling over this. if this had happened @ FOX News, or to Rush, zer0 would have his boots on our throats pronto. even before you could say rahmn emmanuel
We really need to get behind this kid making these videos.
He’s a genius.
“NPR is fair and open minded about the people we cover”
Unless Muslims make a $5 million dollar contribution - and then we will make sure you get your money’s worth and we will make NPR “National Palestine Radio”, just for you!
Probably get a slot at the FCC.....
He is James O’Keefe.
If I had to guess, Mr. O’Keefe will slam NPR with two or three more TV pieces on the same target in a week or so.
Recall the first ACORN hit; just as the ACORN bosses tut-tuted the incident as a “one of a kind,” O’Keefe nailed them with two more.
I can’t wait.
All things considered, the talk of the nation is focused on NPR and their elitist attiudes across the nation.
Seriously this person must be deranged to believe this as a fact.
No, he knows it’s a lie. Like a good Alinskyite he will continue to repeat the lie over and over again until it is accepted as truth.
Oh my! You could be right!
Isn’t David Koch, the money behind the “racist” tea party? Maybe Schiller and David Koch will get to meet in the near future. LOL
Schiller’s first day at the Aspen Institute is April 1
Board of Trustees
So much for this self-professed “elite intellectual”
Typical lib slurping from the trough . . so full of himself.
O’Keefe’s gotcha stuff has been standard fare for 40 years on “60 minutes”, “20/20” and others over the years. I enjoy seeing them squirm from the same tactic they have been using on everyone else.
Please see Tagline!
Just a small clarification: The tactic is not the same as 60 minutes and 20/20. Specifically, even though O’Keefe did edit, he also published the entire unedited episode, in order to demonstrate that nothing was taken out of context.
IOW, O’Keefe was fair, absolutely the opposite of the vile 60 Minutes and 20/20.
Michael Savage interviewed O'Keefe tonight and O'Keefe said this will be like Acorn with additional tapes to follow :-)
What do you know? That’s just car talk. Wait, wait, don’t tell me, you need a prairie home companion.....
So what about NPR institutional giving director Betsy Liley, who was right there chortling along with him?
Since NPR is in a compliant move, I demand that they fire all of their liberals and replace them with conservatives.
Hey, lets ask the government to subsidize the EIB network!/s
Its all a set up , a planned play to get the public to believe that NPR supports equal time for conservatism.
And so NPR secures its funding from Congress yet again? SNORT!
Cut NPR off or alternatively , if NPR is funded, then the EIB network must be funded too!
They ain't mine.......
