Republicans try to override health care bill veto
Tuesday, March 08, 2011
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Republican legislators are doing what they can to find enough votes to override Governor Perdues veto of House Bill number 2.
The bill would block part of the federal health care law that requires people to buy health insurance or face a penalty.
Governor Perdue said she believes this is all politics at play.
I actually continue to believe this bill is a political distraction, Governor Perdue said. Its been a political distraction from the start.
Perdue believes the issue of requiring Americans to buy health insurance or face a fine will end up in the Supreme Court.
Still, she said she is meeting with legislators on both sides of the aisle.
I have begun to have some of the meetings in the mansion and some of the meetings in the Capitol, and I think that works well for all of us, Perdue said.

I'm pretty sure she's exempt from Commiecare.
A bill to require citizens to buy something or face fines or “penalties” is a distraction? Can’t add much more to that!
They do have that power and they use it regularly.
Apparently, the SCt doesn’t know about the states and the people either, since they regularly change the Constitution with their rulings....
Beverly Perdue - a cancer in the great state of North Carolina.
Also, in reference to the ObamaCare article...
As a NC resident, when I think of Pat McCroy, I only think of one word...
We can try probably by a constitutional ammendment more clearly defining the role of the courts.
But its been that way since John Jay.
