Let political correctness in the military finally die a quick and agonizing death. Thank God .. at least some accountability to those who saw and heard the demon's rantings and put saving face or weakness above preventing mayhem and the massacre of our precious troops (and one baby in the womb).

Good. I was afraid this would get swept under the carpet.

With nine being punished I assume the writers of those bogus efficiency reports will face some consequences.

Most of the military personnel who failed to report on crazy ol'Doc Ignatz were his fellow officers at Walter Reid.

The Washington Post is also guilty in this one. They had many reporters on the scene while Hassan was there and the "posties" didn't report anything amiss with this guy who worked right there in the middle of the Psychiatric Outpatient Center where they were.

The "posties" found some bad paint and plaster though, so we must presume they discovered the mad dog killer wandering about as a Major. Their notes would be interesting.

I won't be satisfied until we see some of the "posties" in prison ~ they are probably complicit in Hassan's hate filled journey ~ might have even agreed with him.

They certainly would not have had the close and frequent contact and exposure to Maj. Hasan and his abundantly obvious jihadism. Plus, where’s the regular security checks in the military of their own? All PC scared .. and cannot be tolerated any longer.

Yeah I think punishing these officers won’t do much when the policies will continue to come from above.

If an American soldier had shown nazi sympathies during WWII, I suspect he would have been “killed in action”.

I agree, the problem stems from the top, but it’s still a good start. Maybe officers will now think twice about being politically correct no matter what.

The rule was to let Muslims in the military get away with practically anything rather than be accused of being mean to Muslims. Now, it will at least be seen that there will be a downside for letting someone like Malik slip through the cracks.

You're right about that. I would bet just about anything that if his rater and senior rater had reflected reality on Hassan's OER, they would have been told to *re-write* it, and if they had refused to do so, their careers would have stagnated.

Exactly. If the hateful left really believed in a “woman’s right to choose”, they would at least agree that children are human in the womb if the Mother “chooses” them to be so.

The way the extreme leftist law is now allows “boyfriend punch abortions”, which are not uncommon.

Any punishment for this needs to start at the White House and go down through the Pentagon, and punish those who have occupied the top positions for at least a couple of decades and ushered the insidious and perverse sickness of political PCness into the decision making of the armed forces and other areas of the federal government.

isn't that the way it always is... blame the lowest rank that satisfies the need to feed the beast. The policy followed by flag officers and DOD bureaucrats is what led to the islamic (feces be unto him) jihadist murdering our troops and the PC continues by not allowing weapons on a base.

Of all the pathetic things i've heard of, even donut munching wanna-be special operator keystone cops are allowed to carry their weapons. So the security of the base depends on rent-a-cops or local PD. f'ing beautiful day in paradise. heck the local Walmart allows concealed carry but a man/woman TRAINED to operate a weapon isn't allowed to have one.

yum-yum....

Lesson learned, make super-d-duper that NO FIREARM signs are big enough so that people like this jihadist will stay away from bases with weapons. Nidal probably didn't see the sign posted on the building and should have been more prominently displayed. Maybe even in several languages.

While I do think the military wants scapegoats, I also believe that anyone who ever was a rater or senior rater of Hassan, who also knew of his problems, and who did not honestly evaluate him made a terrible error in judgement that has injured the US Army.

One doesn’t need to evaluate his religion to evaulate his professionalism, attitude, demeanor, prospects, etc.

Any rater or senior rater who can be shown to have known of Hassan’s extreme nature, and who nonetheless rated him highly, should have, at a minimum, a letter in their file zeroing out their rating scheme and stating that they are demonstrated incapable of professional evaluations of subordinates.

Is that a career killer? You bet. And with Hassan being a doc, and a major, that will nail an awful lot of colonels and a few generals, too. No way I can see, though, that this would go to the top of the military. Gen Petraeus, for example, is almost totally dependent on a man’s former commanders to give him a fair picture of any new man coming his way.

"Stagnated" does not even come close to what they would have experienced if they had stuck to reality. I know I experienced significant pressure as a Lieutenant (Platoon Leader) endorsing a career E-6 that was never going to see E-7 if I had anything to do with it. I took crap from both the Platoon Sergeant and the Battery Commander. The E-6 in question was a member of a protected minority. This around 1980 so I know it's only gotten worse in 31 years.

Hasan worked in the White House at one time and was known to Obama.

Hasan’s evaluation at Reed was so poor he wasn’t recommended for promotion but that was overridden.

I would like to know who ordered Hasan promoted to Major. My guess it was the White House.

Will these nine officers be tried and convicted before Hasan?

Yes, it’s deplorable - that level of corruption that allowed Hasan to move - as a muslim infiltrator - through the Army. And yes, heads should roll.

But FGS... start by swinging Hasan by a noose. Then move on.

Agree - the military is taking a HUGE CHANCE here, as these guys, with decent counsel, will NO PROBLEM putting together a defense that will probably include being forced to read the Koran, bend down on a flying carpet, and learn some Arabic.

Anyone who thinks that military officers, if left to themselves, would EVER ignore a threat like Hassan has a lot to learn about the military.

Punished if you do, punished if you don't, put at risk and not allowed to kill the enemy because of ridiculous rules of engement, sent all over the world with multiple tours, assured of substandard medical treatment for a whole host of psychological and physical problems, paid a poverty wage, hated by 1/3 of the country at all times, at risk of being horribly maimed or killed - even if at home or walking through an airport, in the event of your death may have your funeral picketed by people who mock your death, if you surivive you'll take your spot in the unemployment line...oh, and now the guy next to you in the fox hole thinks you're cute.

That anyone volunteers anymore is a miracle.

God Bless our military.

Look, while the "posties" were doing their interviews and other investigations at Walter Reed they certainly did have access to Hassan.

In fact, some of Hassan's favorite rants about trying some of the patients for war crimes began showing up in leftwingtard websites while the "posties" were on site.

So who do you imagine passed that stuff around? My guess it was the "posties" themselves, and their friends in what became known as Journolist.

You guys forget too easily that the WarshPost got rid of the commanding officer, and then they got rid of his replacement.

Hmm.

Gates did that.

Gates is also involved in that decision to leave the people on post at Fort Hood DISARMED. That paved the way for Hassan to jump in there and kill so many so easily.

I think Gates needs to go before a House Committee before he leaves ~ and he can explain his involvement with Major Hassan!
