CHICK-FIL-NO-THANK-YOU: Focus St. Louis and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce said today that they are canceling a planned presentation by Dan Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A, following complaints that Cathy and his company are involved with anti-gay organizations.
Chick-fil-A, which is known for promoting a company vision of Christian values, was enmeshed in a controversy earlier this year involving an independent Chick-fil-A operator in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which is affiliated with the Family Resource Institute. The latter institute was recently designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center because of its anti-gay positions.
The decision to cancel Cathy's March 18 presentation here was made after PROMO, a statewide organization that advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality, protested his appearance and asked Focus and the Chamber of Commerce to reconsider.
Ellen Gale, the head of the chamber, said . . . "We are a pro-diversity culture here and certainly don't want to offend anyone. . . ."

It appears as though the “pro-diversity” group isn’t into diversity. Closed minds.
The Southern Anti Poverty Law Center should be named a hate group by law. They are constantly naming innocent groups as hate groups simply because they oppose Morris Dee’s radical agenda.
That is definitely a hateful act.
Another example of liberal hypocrisy. They are for diversity as long as everyone is the same as them.
Oops, I just noticed they don’t have the word “Anti” poverty in their name which must mean they are pro poverty.
If there was a Chic-Fil-A around here I would buy one just about every day. They are good. Some of the other brands are good too.
I hope CF-A stands up to their blibal values and does not cave. To me, it would be much better to stand on God’s side than to align yourself with the perverts and their enablers.
What is “diverse” about where these activists stick their penises? Has the Chamber of Commerce gone mad? Who the hell is PROMO that they just cancel it at the first word of protest?

In reference to your canceling the speaker from Chick-Fil-A. I am glad you don’t want to offend anyone and want to be inclusive. I am therefore very much offended that you are refusing to be inclusive of those with Christian viewpoints. Being tolerant of those with different lifestyles and viewpoints is important in creating a more diverse society that values all individuals. I think it is a travesty that a Chamber Of Commerce in today’s United States could be so closed minded and intolerant.
That would be a good slogan for the homosexuals.
I like Chick-Fil-A. Great food.
I do too. I like them better than hamburgers. Not just Chick-fil-a either. Checkers also makes good ones. Probably a lot of others too.

If they changed their name, just for this event, to "Dick-Fill-A" would you let them come?

Maybe we should look at some of the Chamber Members and see how “diverse” they are?
I just went to our local Chic-fil-a today and had a great chicken sandwich. All their food is better than excellent and the staff is clean, friendly, and fast. Their restaurant is so clean that it sparkles. Being closed on Sundays just makes me love them all that more.
