The Curious Case of Keith “Crybaby” Ellison, CAIR and the Nation of Islam’s Man in Congress
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Jesse Hathaway

Just who is Representative Keith Ellison (Democrat, MN-05)?

Is he one of two Muslim Congressmen?

Is he the heel to Rep. Peter King (R-NY), whose Homeland Security hearings on the radicalization of American Muslims have been smeared as a “witch hunt”?

Is he the Congressman who—in his best Joseph Welch impression—recounted a tale (of which some are questioning the veracity) of Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a 23-year-old Pakistan-born American who sacrificed his life saving civilians from the 2001 Islamic terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings

Or is he a radical himself, with ties to radical Islam himself?

Yes, yes, yes, and unfortunately, yes.

Our story starts in 1963, when Keith Maurice Ellison was born into a God-fearing, all-American Roman Catholic family in Detroit, Michigan. While attending Wayne State University for an economics degree, Ellison converted to Islam at the age of 19. Ellison later enrolled at the University of Minnesota’s law school.

In an interview with Middle East media outlet Al-Jazeera, he explained that his conversion to Islam was political in nature:

I had begun to really look around and ask myself about the social circumstances of the country, issues of justice, issues of change. When I looked at my spiritual life, and I looked at what might inform social change, justice in society… I found Islam.

As a law student, Ellison began to write of his adulation for the “Minister Louis Farrakhan,” and the Nation of Islam.

The family may have been G-d-fearing and Roman Catholic, but all-American? C'mon. I don't think children from all-American families convert to Islam at the moment they gain some independence.

>“converted to Islam for precisely the same reason many American blacks convert -— hatred for “whitey.”<

.
Whoa, aren’t we told that racism in America is a thing of the past? We are now one happy melting pot, sitting in each other’s waste, and daily gloryfying the unity of our diversity.

Kumbayah y’all, kumbayah.

I just chack with Snopes, and in their universe, Mohammed Salman Hamdani doesn't exist.

Switching to Google...

Michael van der Galien, PoliGazette, is a Convert to Islam and Genocide Denier

Consider the source. His post is particularly disgusting and mendacious. Just for knowing, Michael van der Galien is a  convert to Islam. In his own words. Think he's biased against the 'Jewess' (which is what I am called by another LGF supporter on Holocaust Remembrance day, no less). Lovely.

Yes, Mohammed Salman Hamdani apparently died in the World Trade Center, but he was honored weeks before his body was found.

Makes the charge of having been abused as a muslim pointless... or at best distorted for fake dramattic effect :

So, why didn’t “Keith” run under his Muzzie name, if he was doing it out of political principle?

According to a similar article at Powerline, he had. Amazingly, he couldn't win that way. Who knew?

Do you have info about his Muslim name?
It seems the internet (or just google) has scrubbed any sites with that info.

Found it:
Keith Ellison (aka Keith Hakim or Keith Ellison Muhammad)

As I suspected, it was scrubbed from the google first page.

This is from the Powerline article: don't know if this needs an excerpt or not:

From the time of Ellison's first article in the University of Minnesota Daily, published when he was a University of Minnesota Law School student in 1989 under the name Keith Hakim, through the time he first ran for public office ten years later under the name Keith Ellison-Muhammad, unsuccessfully seeking the Democratic endorsement for a state legislative seat, Ellison was a self-avowed advocate of the Nation of Islam. Ellison's self-identification as a member and local leader of the Nation of Islam remained one of the deep secrets of his 2006 campaign, and remains so today.

Just for the record .... I saw your post that mentioned you found it. FReegards.

this IS what Congress does......they hold hearings on EVERYTHING....get over it ya, Crybaby. I LOL when I saw him. if Muslims are doing nothing wrong, they have nothing to worry about regarding the hearings. if they uncover factual information regarding Muslims....again, good American Muslims have nothing to fear. Congressman hold hearings....it happens. even presidents are not immune.

Yeah he existed - here’s a reference from 2005
http://www.infozine.com/news/stories/op/storiesView/sid/5908/

He’s also mentioned in the original text of the Patriot Act itself (from section 102)
“Many Arab Americans and Muslim Americans have acted heroically during the attacks on the United States, including Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a 23-year-old New Yorker of Pakistani descent, who is believed to have gone to the World Trade Center to offer rescue assistance and is now missing,”
