we heard several sonic booms over melbourne florida on 3/11/11 around 9pm , curious to know if anyone else heard them ?

You sure it wasn’t March 9th? When the Shuttle returns, there is always a double sonic boom as it comes through the sound barrier.........

There was a missile launch around 6:35 p.m. last night from Cape Canaveral.
There was a rocket lift off at the cape last night around six thirty.
My wife and I were driving down the highway and I saw something that looked like a “missle”, a la the thing off the west coast last year. I wanted to stop and take a picture, as I figured it was a plane coming straight at us from Orlando. My brother, a kind of conspiracy nut, and I have had arguments about whether it was a missile or contrail. I was going to take a picture to prove him wrong.
Then we got home and saw on the news that the Air Force launched a spy satellite last night.
I still say it was a contrail.
Not 9 PM, but last night and I am sure it was loud in Melbourne.
Possibly the rumble from the Delta IV launch. Depending on wind direction it could be misinterpreted as sonic booms. The Delta pads are the closest. Didn’t hear anything myself to the south of you.
