A 60-year-old man has been found on the roof of his floating house nearly 10 miles out at sea, two days after the tsunami that devastated the north-east coast of Japan.
Hiromitsu Shinkawa must have resigned himself to his fate when he was swept away by the retreating tsunami that roared ashore in his home town of Minami Soma in Fukushima prefecture.

Miracle. Is he a Christian?
He’s on the english language Japan TV giving his eye-witness accoun. So scary... http://bit.ly/idutY6
“Yo, over here.... the fishing is terrible...”
I hope it’s okay to post one more paragraph from the article:
“Reports said that on being handed a drink aboard the rescue boat, Shinkawa gulped it down and immediately burst into tears. His wife, with whom he had returned home as the tsunami approached, is still missing.”
This is a beautifully-written article.
An incredible story. No matter how bad things get, there are always examples of heroism and courage in disasters like this.
Praise be to God!!!
Maybe his code name is Jason Bourne.
BUMP - the best coverage of the quake/tsuanami I have seen. Everyone interviewed speaks excellent English - actual accounts from survivors + very informed local officials.
My guess is HHK is Hong Kong based.
At any rate - worth a look.
Scariest Tsunami video yet. 1st person view as a town goes in 6 mins
Yes. Can't you tell?
I don’t think he has to be a Christian to experience a miracle.
THAT WAS AMAZING. After that video of a whole town being washed away in 6 minutes, I better understand the horrible devastation a tsunami can cause. Thank G-d that man and his companions were on an actual HILL. I was afraid they too were on a roof. That video blew me away more than any other.
Thank you for sharing it. Prayers to all the people in that village. However few survived.
