Personal responsibility is an issue of pride in Japan. It is the exact opposite of attitudes of taking pride in how much you can get from the system that plagues liberal areas of this nation.

I'm walking on eggshells here and I hope those of you who can read code will get the message. Every intelligent person knows the difference between the behavior of the people in Japan in the aftermath of a unprecedented disaster and the behavior of those after Katrina. Nothing more need be said.

They just wanted to point out how the US is inferior to the rest of the world.

The difference between the two situations is that with Katrina, Bush was president. It was 100% his fault.

Any criticisms of the Democrats' socialist welfare state and its "base" denizens must be left unspoken.

My wife and I were talking about this today. I was commenting on how orderly and efficient the Japanese were in this time of disorder and grief. They weren’t on camera bitching and whining about how they weren’t getting what they deserved.

Katrina was not just New Orleans. Mississippians handled themselves in order without a significant amount of chaos. The Gulf Coast of Mississippi experienced the same effect as did the Tsunami on Japan. There is a big difference between the behaviour and politics of the Japanese and Mississippians versus those of the residents of New Orleans.
