Recall Group Banned From City Hall
Story Updated: Mar 14, 2011

MARINETTE, Wis. (AP) -- Marinette's mayor says a group trying to recall state Senator Dave Hansen is not allowed in city hall.

Those trying to recall the Democratic senator wanted to circulate petitions at Marinette City Hall as they're doing in Oconto and Green Bay. But, Mayor Bob Harbick says he doesn't want the same kind of disruption that's happened at the Capitol in Madison. Harbick says his decision is logical and non-partisan. The mayor also says he doesn't believe in what the group is trying to do.

Harbick tells the Marinette EagleHerald when someone is voted into office, he or she should be given the chance to do their job within the elected term.

The group trying to recall Hansen says it's doing so because the senator stayed in Illinois during the budget repair vote and failed to show up for work.

Too easy. Just add mayor Bob to the recall and conduct it in front of city hall, in town square, etc..

Obama doesn’t have time to do anything but golf, and groove at the White Hut. Meanwhile, W. graciously picks up the slack for him.

Example: Obama won’t meet with our Eagle Scouts, won’t send them the presidential letter, etc, but W. has been doing it (thankfully). Our last Eagles got their letters from W., after getting the cold shoulder from the White House.

In addition, say what you will about W. (and I disagree with many of his policies), he has the class to actually come out here and meet with our Eagles at Judson College.

Our boys were at first upset that Obama would not recognize their achievements (even Clinton did), but were soon glad he didn’t, because W. took up the mantle, and is doing what our current POTUS will not.

Obama is too busy.

DUH, isn’t that what the recall is about.
Getting someone into the seat that will DO THEIR JOB within the elected term —
NOT vacationing (on the Company dime) in the middle of the session?

If union thugs were trying to recall a Republican, hey no problem. Liberal contamination is destroying our country.

Being I just went to the Blue and Gold banquet two Saturdays ago. This post disturbs me. How could a President not support the American as apple pie, boy scouts/Eagle Scouts and girl scouts for that matter. Very disgusting.

Geez, M6r. Mayor:

Perhaps you can be recalled, also.

This building belongs to the PUBLIC....not to you.

You are out of line.

If there is a recall against you, I will contribute.

Apart from their arrest for a felony and having the seat declared vacant, or their body (assembly or senate) 2/3 voting to expel them, in Wisconsin, that’s it.

I am not talking about illegal activities, only legal ways of removing them. It’s not a judgment, just stating what we’ve got on the books here.
