Top-ranking Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer is urging Republican House Speaker John Boehner to ditch the Tea Party and join a coalition that includes Democrats to work around conservative lawmakers on spending cuts.
It is becoming clear that the path to a bipartisan budget deal may not go through the Tea Party at all. In order to avert a shutdown, Speaker Boehner should consider leaving the Tea Party behind and instead seek a consensus in the House among moderate Republicans and a group of Democrats, the New Yorker said in a written statement.

Is Boehner that stupid? I don’t care how senior he is, if he climbs into bed with Schumer, he’s gone in 2012.

Once agan a republican gives the wrong answer to a reporter writing a democrat propaganda piece. The response should have been, “I call on Senator Schumer to leave the socialists behind and join the American people.”

Bart Stupak was that stupid for accepting Obama’s “deal” to cut out abortion funding with an executive order. Everybody knows the new health law will use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. Stupak was too chicken to run in 2010 knowing that voters would pound him for letting the wool get pulled over his eyes. But for Stupak and a few similarly-minded clowns, we wouldn’t even have the Obamacare mess to clean up.

Meant to add: since progressives managed to fool these Dems, and since they have an even lower opinion about the intelligence of Republicans, you can rest assured Schumer believes Boehner is stupid enough to take his bait.

Boehner knows if the Tea Party gets their way more conservatives will win in 2012 and they will then have the numbers to put a REAL conservative in the Speaker's chair.
Pelosi lost her power by pushing the socialist agenda.
No way Boehner is going to lose his by pushing the conservative agenda.

We need a ‘Bizarro World’ (good) Pelosi on our side - someone who will stare down the evil and in-your-face attack! Unfortunately for us, cry baby Boehner ain’t that guy.
The Fat lady is warming up, for the Republican name brand will be a thing of the past. The Tea Party needs to move on without them. Unfortunately, by 2012, it may be too late to save the good ole USA from financial meltdown due to currency crisis (QE^n).

I don’t think that Boehner is stupid, I also don’t think that he is a true conservative. Frankly its next to impossible to stay in Washington, D.C., as long as he has, and not become part of the problem. Term limits are a necessity at this point in time. Bottom line Boehner must go!

Shumer is very calculating he is trying to drive a wedge between the Tea party and the Republicans. This is an opening salvo in a Democrat effort to frustrate the Tea party and try and make it splinter off into a third party. The Tea Party must supply the spine for the GOP, for it has none with out it.

It's time for everyone to realize that the Tea Party is to American politics what the Swift Boat Vets are to American veterans.
It is too late to hash out where, how or if the Tea Party will affect the Presidential election.
We are further along than that now and it is laughable that anyone, Conservative or Liberal, is unable to grasp that or insists on marginalizing the Tea Party momentum.

I am surprised you didn't get the email...It happened 20 years ago when he was first elected. Ever since then he has pursued the Republican party's socialist policies hopping some day to grow up and be accepted as a full fledged Democrat (communist)....20 years in DC gives you a strong grounding on “me-first” survival strategies and a boatload of ways to marginalize newbies (i.e. the tea-party, who is about to get its a.. handed to it.).
Sshummer is just having some fun with him..he's the pappa cat playing with the mouse. Schummer of course has been here longer and knows exactly where the Republicans (socialists) will end up.
