Georgia Republican U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss is breaking ranks to oppose efforts to restrict federal funding for National Public Radio.

The Georgia Republican defended the news organization over the weekend, saying restricting federal funding may not be the “wisest thing.”

Another ‘big gubmint’ RINO.

I'm convinced that at least half of the Republicans share the same big government philosophy of 100% of the Democrats. These Republicans will speak a good game - but when it comes push to shove they'll support Big Government spending, and stall any cuts. Perhaps 25% to 50% of the Republicans actually believe in the concept of a limited Government, with a much smaller budget, and reduced tax burdens on the people.

This is a tough one to correct. Many of these Republicans will masquerade as caring about fiscal responsibility - but you don't find out until its time to vote - and you get garbage like this where Chambliss somehow finds that its important for the taxpayers to support NPR...
We have to root these turncoats out if this Nation is to survive.

Millions for Marx?

Nah. Coupla hundred thou for Mozart, Mahler. Maybe. (Nothing for 12-tone composers Jazz is OK.)

Send Nina Totenberg ("Death Mountain" in German) and the airhead Mara Liason packing off to another broadcaster. Bill Moyer, Garrison Keillor and too many other Left-Wing Anal Carbuncles are literally making millions off NPR. send them packing off to the private sector, and make them take that sepulchre-voiced superannuated liberal dingbat Daniel Shorr with them. "All things considered?" Yeah right! "OK, Keillor is funny, maybe he can make it on his own, even after he sees how his anti-Republican slurs go down.

That Seymour witch out in LA says it all for NPR when he baldly states that the "Left is good. The Right is bad, we all know that."

Saxby Chambliss? Linda Murkowski? I wish them both a happy political Totenberg.

Good point! Just two years ago, the Huffingtonandpuffington was caliming what great ratings NPR was getting.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/24/npr-achieves-record-ratin_n_178303.html

If Nazi Propaganda Radio is getting the good ratings Zsa Zsa’s crew claims, they don’t need the federal “government” to borrow money from China to fund them anymore.

You know, today has been a disgusting and disappointing day on so many fronts (and here I'm only talking about Republicans). To wit:

Baner (I'm not even going to try and spell his name right) rolls over and sadly takes many Tea Party freshmen with him by voting for (and passing) continuing resolution...

MurCowSki (I'm not even going to try and spell her name right) openly supports Planned Parenthood. If only this had been the position of Lisa's mother.

Saxby Shameless (Sadly, I think I spelled his name correctly) wants to continue to fund NPR. I don't know, maybe he'll be getting his own show.

The Republican party is weak-kneed and wobbly at best. Right now I can count on one hand the number of Senators who can be counted on to hold to conservative ideals. The House has maybe twenty.

But rest easy you weak and wobbly ones, the New York Times loves you and no doubt you will now be invited to some great parties there in D.C.

Funding NPR just isn't a legitimate government function. It's just one of many organizations that should be de-funded. The Departments of Education, Commerce, Agriculture and many more should all be defunded.

Maybe Saxby listens to Car Talk, but I really think that the good shows will do well privately.

The Tea Party sent some good people to Washington in this last election but that still makes the rest RINO’s.

Many of the new members from upstate New York and here in Pennsylvania are establishment moderate insiders.

Those types of ratings are based on votes for specific pieces of legislation. Some politicians vote right or left, but try to talk like they are “moderate”. When they get called for straying from their base, they point to the ratings and ignore their public words.

As Captain Renault might have said, “I am shocked that there is disingenuousness in politics. Absolutely shocked!”
