To be honest, I think voucher programs are a worthy investment. Money is already spent on the atrocious public schools they would otherwise be forced to attend and with vouchers, they stand a better chance of becoming productive citizens.
The spiteful unions are ALWAYS going after the kids in the voucher program. After the kids in the voucher program, they go after the kids in the “virtual school” programs (kids who go to school on line). And after those, they go after the homeschooled kids.
As opposed to what? Spending $12,000 to send a kid to a school that is not his parents’ choice?
You act like they won’t give that money anyway. As naive as you are, we are in deep trouble.
You act like you don't realize they are spending that money now and on institutions that seek destroy everything you hold dear. With your inability to face reality -- or your willingness to accept the status quo -- we certainly are in deep trouble
Oh my goodness. Yes they are spending 12 grand a year per child. Now you want them to spend 18 grand a year. They are not going to stop paying the 12 grand. Come on.....I have read your posts before. You are intelligent.
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
This means that low-income students in Milwaukee are now qualified for spending a $6400 voucher on an approved private school of their choice. Poor Hispanic kids who are forced to attend South Division High School, for instance, will not have the chance to attend any of the approved suburban private schools in Oak Creek, Franklin, South Milwaukee, Hales Corners, and so on.
No, they will spend $6,400 per child in lieu of the the $12,000, if it's anything like the plans being presented in Pa.
If not, then rather than objecting to extra money being used for kids to escape the propaganda system, start advocating that extra money be returned tot he taxpayer since it is no longer needed.
Good point.
Cannot afford to lose the SC seat.
Also at stake is Walker’s former job as Milwaukee Co. Exec. were State Rep. Jeff Stone is the GOP candidate.
If the voucher for private schools is $6400, you can rely on the fact that warehousing each kid in a gummint skewel (indoctrination center, prison camp, brain laundry, glorified babysitting service and entertainment center) will cost another $6400 per kid per year on top of that and simultaneously cost those kids deprived of vouchers any shot at a meaningful education which will cost gigantic sums of the kid and or of the taxpayers for the rest of the kid’s life.
