MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin's Democratic state senators will have votes they cast in committee counted and other penalties imposed against them will be rescinded after they returned to the state on Saturday.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said Tuesday that assurances he received from Democrats that they will participate in future Senate sessions and votes allowed him to rescind finding the Democrats in contempt.

The point was for the GOP to get the goods. They did. To keep pounding on this is a distraction and gives the Dems a chance to milk it for some sympathy. They have bigger fish to fry. Next up: Concealed Carry.

You are so right. They threw their hissy fit, essentially tossing the state upside down for a month. They STILL LOST, and now we are seeing a strong backlash to those actions. Unions have been fully exposed and are going to be crippled by passing the bill. There are many fights ahead, and the democrats will have to stay and fight them. There is NO WAY their bloc will re-create their infantile behavior. We need to move on and finish the job of balancing the budget.

You are right. I don’t remember that! I from the northside, Broad Ripple area.

I do know that Franklin is wanting a tax hike for teachers right now.

Now the part about republicans escaping to Madison to not be murdered is plausible. LOL Maybe that is a problem nationwide and a reason for republicans to be wimpy.

I never paid attention too much on state and local politics before Lugar as mayor or Otis Bowen as governor.

I do enjoy your posts though.

They are doing Voter ID, need one dem present because it costs money.

These GOP lawmakers are not gutless, they all have, and families have received death threat, while police not always protecting them.

This is a sign of weakness. When you fail to discipline, you are basically condoning the bad behavior.

This is a smart move. The bottom line is that we're talking politics, and in a generally liberal state like Wisconsin, getting the GOP majority that's there right now is something of a miracle. Appearing vindictive after they won (and we did win) isn't going to help with voters.

The important thing is that we won on the substance. Rubbing noses in it may feel good, but it won't play well with the swing voters who put that majority in place.

... the surgical procedure to remove the spine of politicians REPUBLICANS.

Fixed it for you. There is nothing wrong with the spines of demonRATS. In fact, it seems they have been implanted with the spines of the pubbies so they have two with which to rule.

They should be forced to lay on the lawn for a week because if they want to act like a turd they should look like one.

“The Dems are currently hanging themselves in WI...they don't need help from the GOP.”We shall see. The Dems are going all out on the recall elections and if the GOP dispirits its base, we will see significant Democrat gains in the state Senate.

You can bet your ass that the GOP will do everything in its power to despirit its base. It happened in 2008 with the nomination of John McCain. It happened in 2010 in Alaska and Delaware to name a few. The Establishment Republican Party is a subsidary of the Democrat Party. They exist to help the Democrats in gaining and keeping power and to hinder Conservatives.

True true, and if the GOP loses seats in the Wisconsin recall elections, that will discourage other states from trying the same things as Governor Walker.
