They are framing the debate as the middle class vs “the rich.” The debate is between the public sector unions and the rest of us taxpayers. “The Rich” don’t pay more. They are the producers. Any increase in costs are passed on to the consumer. The middle class taxpayer is trying to make the public sector wages and benefits equivalent to what we are paying or being paid.
