Secretary of State Hillary Clinton denies claims the U.S. paid over $2 million in "blood money" to free a CIA contractor who shot and killed two Pakistani men.

"The United States did not pay any compensation," Clinton told reporters in Cairo, according to Reuters.

In what appeared to be carefully choreographed end to the diplomatic crisis, the U.S. Embassy said the Justice Department had opened an investigation into the killings on Jan. 27 by Raymond Allen Davis. It thanked the families for "their generosity" in pardoning Davis, but did not mention any money changing hands.

You mean OUR checkbook.

The Pakistanis are bunch of duplicitous, verminous Ismaic rats.

There is NO DOUBT in my mind they are playing a double game and have been sequestering Mr. Bin Laddin for a long, long, time.

I just guess we will have to wait for Wiki Leaks for the REAL story.

Money plays a big role in the espionage world, so it wouldn’t surprise me, nor particularly upset me, if they did pay it. I understand why they would not want to broadcast it if they did. Sure beats having his head hacked off.

“The United States did not pay any compensation,”... Parsing, for saying we did not pay any bribes, graft or “vig”.

It was not the Pakistani government but the families of the dead terrorists who were complaining, and the government didn't want to offend the Muslim community any further by letting him go.

I think what this says is that the $3 million was paid directly to the families in question, and they then dropped their complaints.

The Pakistani government is already getting billions from us, so a few million would hardly be noticed.

WRONG.

He had diplomatic immunity, aside from the fact it was justified.

Paying off these Islamic pigs only encourages them, as we learned to our dismay in the early 1800’s.

The U.S. should have simply laid it on the line to these two timing bastards and if they refused to release him, cut off all aid and withdraw our embassy.

Once again, Obummer and his scurvy crew of left-wing rejects demonstrates they are not ready for prime time TV in the international world.

The State Dept is complying with Sharia Law. Pay off the fam and they go to court and drop the charges.

Little more than extortion.

Of course, the United States did not pay any compensation, we just agreed to give a no-bid contract to one of their gov’t organizations.

Now even Saudi will refuse to do service for US, after recent treatment from US.

This is US acknowledgement to Islamic law. In Pakistan, when ever its suits them, they bring Islamic law, otherwise they are happy without law.

In theory, I agree with you. We should not give in to ransom demands. On the other hand, if you want to get agents into a country, you need to show them that you can also get them out. Its a dirty business, and morals and principles can often take a beating.

At this point, I htink the only agents who can get anything out of these fiends are clandestine ones, particularly those are from the indigenous population and willing to sell information to us.

Ultimately, we will have to take out their nuclear weapons, or help the Indians do so.

Perhaps, but the CIA is very tight with Saudi Intelligence, despite the incompetence and arrogance of Secretary of State Brunnhilde and President Goofball.
