It's been my experience that most people, even supposedly intelligent people, don't have a clue where their food or fuel come from. They hate the oil companies but can't do without gasoline or motor oil or lubricants. They complain about "dirty" industrial processes but are happy to enjoy the fruits of an advanced industrial society.

Hussein keeps saying that the US has 3% of the world's oil reserves but uses 25% of that resource. Nonsense. The US sits on 25% of the world's oil reserves. It simply lacks the political will to exploit them. Tell all your friends and neighbors.

I was in college at Stony Brook on Long Island, back when LILCO was trying to bring the Shoreham nuclear plant on-line. Cuomo refused to sign off on the "evacuation plan."

What a joke! You can't get off of Long Island on a Friday afternoon is less than 4 hours, let alone if there was an "evacuation order." And I remember that safety problems with Indian Point was a big part of the discussion.

Bottom line though — WAS THE SHOREHAM NUCLEAR POWER PLANT A SAFE DESIGN?
