Schultz: Supporting Republican Michigan Gov Equals 'Lining Up With Communist Party'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/16/2011 8:02:03 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Wait a sec! Wasn't it Republicans who supposedly were irresponsibly accusing Dems of being socialists and Commies? Check that. Ed Schultz has declared--not paraphrasing, actually quoting--that Tea Partiers who support Republican Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder are "lining up with the Communist Party."

Schultz was set off by Snyder's signing off an emergency bill giving, as per this report, "broad new powers to emergency financial managers appointed by the state of Michigan to run struggling cities and schools, including the ability to terminate union contracts."

“Communists are all about “unions”.”

Unions are one of the preferred host bodies for the Communist virus; they incubate there before attacking a nation, like the plague festers in rats and fleas before it attacks a human population.

A communist accusing Americans of being communists. LOL! It’s a really wacky world out there. Especially on PMSNBC’s own little planet.

“Words mean what I want them to, neither more nor less.”

Note: The ‘Egghead’ who said that came to a bad end.

... including the ability to terminate union contracts.

I keep seeing this phrase in news stories about this new Michigan law, and it's simply disinformation, scaremongering, or ignorance by the media. Take your pick.

States and their political subdivisions are bound by their contracts and can be sued for breach the same as private citizens. They can't terminate them at will. Only bankruptcy can absolve you of a valid and enforceable contract and that's a power given only to the federal government.

It's a limitation specifically put in the Constitution in Articl 1., Section 10 so that purveyors of goods and services to states knew they would be protected in contracts, and therefore would provide needed provisions.

What a state can do, is forbid the selected cities from entering into new contracts without permission, and that's what this Michigan law will do.

Isn’t this the guy who suggested Democrats engage in election fraud during the 2010 campaign?

Look at the Ed Show this way. It is like a “don’t-let-this-happen-to-you” infomercial paid for by people who actually think Ed has a meaningful following. On which point, two things: First, if Ed’s viewership is as small as I suspect, it is just a waste of time ventorama; or, second, if Ed’s viewership is larger that I can imagine, it must, at a certain point, have a kind of “wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee” effect on any of those who are at least borderline rational.

Seriously, MSNBC had to do a talent search in North Dakota to find the on-air personality/genius to host this show? What is wrong with this picture?

Ed, I hope you are laughing all the way to the bank as you give thanks for how lucky you are to have found people willing to pay you for what you do.

Sir, I don’t know about *most* Michiganders being against these *emergency managers.*

State your evidence.

Dunno about Snyder, MI AG Schuette appears to be wreckless, who knows what our state elections have stated, but he would rather suck up to muzzies than defend the average citizen here. That’s another topic to watch.

We’ll know in 100 days. In the meantime Snyder is taking the *business approach* to this whole mess.

Gov. Walker took on this same mess head on, fleebaggers and all that. However, it appears Snyder is going the *business* way and is executing it a whole different way, death by a 1000 cuts.

Lots to talk about in the years to come.

So, you are saying that you’re ok with the idea that the local government that you elected can be tossed out and replaced at whim without the input of the people?

If you weren’t so busy spouting left wing talking points you might notice that the cities themselves have to give permission.

BTW I see you just signed up.

I don’t know about him encouraging election fraud but he did encourage democrats to cross party lines to vote for him.

They won’t be doing that again anytime soon. LOL

Mark, this is a very important concession on Ed's part.

He just stated, in so many words, that being a Communist is BAD.

We can remember this and use this, against him, forever.

You don’t expect the Dems who spout off about this bill to have actually READ it, do you? LOL

Schultzie needs to be careful. He’s going to confuse the Democrats and Unionistas into voting for ‘Pubbies.

Prior to his death in 1935, Huey Pierce Long, Jr., said that when fascism comes to America “they will just call it anti-fascism.” I don’t think the people will catch on in time.

These people are morons. Unionista claiming that Snyder wants to tax his pension and give it to the big corporations in the form of tax breaks. Somebody needs to explain how a tax break equals money given to someone else. Granholm actually gave money to guys like Michael Moore.
